So I got my used airbox with k&n filter (previous owner removed it and installed chinese crappy pods) . The bike is currently running rich. I want to reinstall the stock airbox and was wondering whether there is an easy way to do that. Any suggestions?

Having the stock air box on it....should make it not run as rich. It should run quite nicely.

looking at the top of the carbs where the airbox needs to sit, I found the breather hose so check on that although it will be rather hard to install. However I noticed that at the base of each carb there is a rubber hose which leaves the carb and ends up....nowhere. What the heck are those and more importantly where are they supposed to go?

These are drain hoses.

Here is a good pic, on which you can see how they are routed on the bike.

Hope this helps.
