Nice story an great pics. I am not sure what month they started production but I think it was a month or two before yours. They weren't exactly setting the world on fire with production when it first got going but then it took off once the fastest bike in 85 started hitting the street.

We've adapted over a few over the years on the Gen 1's using the Venture sending unit and a simple indicator. I probably have a few of the sending units on hand still. See examples. It will require custom wiring of course.

It is offset to the Right just a little. Old trick was to buy a second RH side adapter and use it to offset the arm back over to the left just a little bit.

Or, just swap over with the machining needed to run the current royal star starter clutch. That's what we do for our HD version which as of yet we have not have one fail. Thus you won't need to invent anything new.

Sounds like the kill switch is not working if you have no vboost or fuel pump when first turning the key on.

85-89 is Yellow Label in the US 90-07 is Silver Label in the US

There is risk of leaning out the #3 cylinder without the flash but some people have done it.

The bottom of the 85-92 braces will be cast with 1FK while the 93-07 Braces will be something different (and not interchangeable)
