We've done it with a machined off shaft to remove weight and it had a wicked vibration at 2 different RPM zones. One right where you would ride at on the highway. The other was higher up. Didn't take long before that engine didn't like it anymore.

Looks like the some of the washer stack used in the choke lever. That uses multiple washers to function correctly.

They are completely different wheelie bars. Gen 1 has the simpler setup with dual shocks that can be swapped for struts then tabs for mounting of the wheelie bar. The gen 2 is a single shock which has a different set of problems to mount up a set of bars (that no one makes).

I doubt you need any "repair" unless you simply want something cosmetic to fix the dings in the steering neck.

They weld like **** but can be welded. You'll never get it to polish or chrome but it can be filled in and painted. I have good scoops here but i'm not necessarily the cheapest guy to get them from.
