I thought I heard at one point the B-King was a tad quicker than the Busa, well should be at least as quick as the Busa as you said!

I can't see that. The Busa is only as quick as it is because of its aerodynamics - I don't think a naked bike could go as fast as you just wouldn't be able to hold on..

Here we go again, I bet half you guys sit in your living room Sunday afternoons being Coach Couch calling plays and saying should have would have only if they did this.... The damn bike will run 9's with a good rider, most of you here that go down a track once 2 days out of the whole yr, YOU WONT SEE 9's on it. When the mag tests the 09 VMAX and I cant wait so this BS will stop they will run I garuntee in the 9's I am guessing 9.83 see how close I am....

Yes it will beat a hayabusa with an idiot rider on the boosa and a good rider on the VMAX
No it wont beat the haybusa with a good rider on the busa and an avg rider on the VMAX..

PS Kawi isnt the fastest bike anymore, the new 1320 took that award from the ZX14, I spent the day at the track and watched stock busas and zx 14's the Suzuki had the highest MPH stock for stock...

Good points lankee! I can't wait to hear what actual owners have to say about the Max, hopefully hear something in a few weeks I suspect? :confused2:

So, how fast is the 2024 Corvette going to be in 15 yrs?
Do you think the 2010 VMAX will make more horsepower I bet it will.
How much is gas going to cost next yr from now do you think its going to be over 4.00 I bet it is..

Get the point?

If it does I'll be pissed! I could see maybe after a few years. Watch, for the 2010 model they'll throw the 1800cc on it and put out 295 HP.

I heard the 2024 Corvette will be used to send people into space.

Dale Walker has already done 1/4 mile runs on it and the best he got was a 10.1 . This was mentioned earlier in this thread. I'd consider him a good, if not excellent, drag racer.

Just my two cents while I'm over here paying my $1.05...

I'll be tickled pink when I get back to the States and get my bike. I'm sure it'll take a few weeks for me to stop grinning like an idiot. I get a month off when I get home to do as I please, and I'll spend 90% of it getting to know my new bike. :punk:

My point? If a Busa is a touch faster than me, it won't won't the grin off my face. I just enjoy the ride. And no one can tell me it's not a bad ass ride. :)

That's the spirit, I feel the same way. When is yours due to arrive, I forgot when you said it was?

Thats about right than 10.1 - .3 = 9.80's what the mags will right..

When I bought my GSXR750 new in 1990 the magazines claimed 10.83 and all I could get was a 11.20's Back than I was 170lbs racing at Englishtown NJ at sea level.

The magazines will have some engineer from Yamaha tweeking the shit out of it...
So there ya have it.

9.83 @ 143.08 mph

I really tend to wonder what this engine is truly capable of, you know it should put out more than 200 horses. Quick, someone figure out what we need to do to get more power and don't say slap a supercharger and nitrous on it! :biglaugh: Even though this bike has a major bad ass look, imagine a blower sticking out of it!

or maybe your just not that good? like one of those idiot riders you mentioned earlier......

sorry but that was just begging to be pointed out....

Really?
I have news for ya...60 foot times are more important to quarter mile times than aero..... thats why good riders pull of times 1.5 seconds faster on the same bikes....

lots of displacement... racier cams and some fuel work should yield more power...yamaha already has a race computer for it..... im sure in race trim it will be a destroyer....

What it really needs is a HUGE diet. Shed 100+ lbs then go for it. You are attempting to push a heavy ass brick through the air. Granted you can get a brick to fly if you attach a big enough engine (the USAF proved this with the F4), but make it lighter and see how it performs.

The engine is more than capable of moving this "brick" although it's painfully obvious this thing needs to get on the weight watchers program! A tire with more grabbing power would do wonders as well.

the new V-Max is heavy but from the looks of the 2nd gear power slides i have seen on video the new V-Max has way better handling than the old Max :th_rockon:

I am really having a hard time understanding why it weighs so much. With all its apparent modern technology why couldn't they keep the weight down? They seem to have provided everything I asked for in the surveys they sent out except lighter weight, better gas range and a 6 speed trans.

where are you guy's getting info that Dale Walker tested it or somebody dyoned the 09 vmax...all i am reading is people bs-ing some real verifiable info please..

First big weight addition is the exhaust for sure!! The cat is HUGE and has to weigh a ton. Next thing is to compare the wiring, all the neat electronic gizmos need wiring and that gets heavy quick. Beefier front end, more weight. The scoops are very large and they have to weigh quite a bit.
