Well its been 6 months since the accident. Quite a bit of hospital visiting, surgeries, rehab and rehab.....

Things are getting better. I ve been worried about my thumb and memory loss ( short term ). My shoulder surgery went well, surgery was longer then he anticipated. I have 6 holes in my arm lol. No metal! Just plastic. And some of them are dissolve able. Instead of the crazy body cast, I got a special sling. So that was good. I ve been in that now for about 5 weeks and have another 5 weeks to go. Then I start rehab, so there goes another 6 weeks +/-. I had to stop taking pain meds the morning after my surgery. But honestly I probably really didnt need them anyways. But I threw up so much I blew out my eye lol.

My thumb has been worrying me because i have very little strength and movement. I went back to the hand specialist and he took more xrays and said he didnt think there was much more he could do except wait and do rehab. Well a week later ( which was Wednesday this week ) I was struggling through making dinner and POP! My thumb makes a loud sound and hurts a little.... and is fixed!

They originally told me I was dislocated in a way needing surgery. But after 3 months in casts, They said rehab..... So I did that. When I was in last week for the checkup, he was squeezing my thumb in spots and hit one spot and shot me out of the seat. Well guess what... that spot doesn't hurt anymore since it "popped" back in place. So yeah, it was dislocated. It now moves... but still doesn't bend. I think I am going to be stuck with having it only bend about 30%. But hey it works...

I ve been struggling in the shop trying to keep myself above water. Its been tough. Thank God the weather in Michigan has been mild. My shop gets COLD! But its been good.

Unfortunately, fortunately, my son lost his job 2 weeks before Christmas. ******** at his work cut him the day before bonuses. He lost over $4500... lesson learned though. It was not a career job anyways. But still for a young 21 year old to lose that much money in a bonus is ******. No bad marks, no attendance issues, nothing, just came in and said your fired, wrote him up for tardy/absent. Just had a review said he was doing good with no problems. So it was a sham. Anyways.... he has been helping me in the shop with what I can't do. Its been a struggle watching him do something and I am trying to explain it LOL> :bang head:

But the silver lining to the cloud for him.... he just scored a new job making $4.85 more and hour and full benefits paid, with schooling etc. They stock the fridge for all the employees and once a week order food for them. So he is off again. I am glad to see that. Though it sticks me again LOL. But better he have a good thing started. I ll figure out my headache. I always do.

I bought a Caddy for my daily ride for the winter and probably going to hang on to it for awhile since its a automatic and everything I had was manual trans. Its a fun car though I like it. I didnt want awd either, but its been pretty good. Bitch handles like crazy. Easily the best handling car I have ever owned.

Been eyeballing newer Vettes. Just so much performance for so little money. Since I won't be on a bike this year and possibly next ( Dr told me I most likely wont be riding next year either ), I might pick up a hot rod to drive around. We'll see.

Plans to move to Texas are on hold, I have to heal before I will do that. So that might be another 2 years down the road.

Other than that, I am just coasting along here. Figured I haven't stopped in here in awhile, so I would pop in and say Hi.

Hope you guys all had good holiday's and new year!

Todd

Good news on your recovery. Sucks for your son but it sounds like it's working out in the long run.

Is that the 3.6L? I don't see the V flags though it's got the colors? They are pretty awesome cars and outstanding in performance for the money.

Good to here from you Todd. Glad to hear recovery is progressing, and your able to work some. It
sounds like your son is in a better place than where the **** heads laid him off. It pisses me off
the way many businesses in the U.S. are allowed to get rid of employees for little reason. All the while they expect complete loyalty and do usually get it. Get well at God speed.
Steve

Keep your spirits up, don't get discouraged. A positive mental attitude is key to your recovery.

Good to hear from you. Keep moving in the right direction!

Good to hear from you Todd. Slow but sure. I winced when you were talking about your thumb. I just jammed my pretty good, so I have a small idea of the pain you had.

Glad to hear you're healing, every positive step in your healing is part of the process; like Mike said a positive outlook will aid in your improved health for the future.
Keep it up the good work Todd!

Glad to here your doing better. You would think that a doctor specialist could diagnosis a dislocated thumb. Hope you wern't in pain for too long before you figured it out.

Glad to hear your healing up !
I know it's a long slow process but you'll get there eventually.
