I understand that a person may want to keep his/her thread subject-specific but at the same time almost every thread here has had it's moments where we stray from the original subject. Some digressions have become quite controversial and heated but I do not recall them being deleted/censored. If we anaylzed every thread on this forum we'd be weeks trying to clean up all the off-topic stuff!

I hope that this forum continues to be a medium for many different points of view.

Cheers!

Where did this problem come from ? :ummm:

I didn't see anything this weekend that was a problem, or that Blaine even had posted anything this weekend. Surely time will tell the tale!:eusa_dance:
I did change my avatar and signature pictures but didn't do that until later this AM, so that can't be it.:confused2:

Agree , nobody wants you censored ! :rofl_200:

Redbone you have to put links under the avatars in case we want to do some additional "research"

I was catching up on the Thunder 2011 thread. I wanted to mention my son graduates that weekend in June so I probably wouldn't be able to attend Thunder. Anyway, I noticed a lot of stuff was deleted with the tag-line "rubbish". Can't say I ever noticed that kind of thing before on this forum. I don't know the content of the deleted posts so I'm not judging one way or another...just making an observation.

rubbish from "nobody" that absolutely had nothing to do with anything other than insulting people attending thunder and other crap he spewed from his fingertips...

Fair enough...this thread, and this forum as a whole, should not be used as a medium for insults.

Thank-you for the update.

I shared some heated dialogue on the "Why VMOA" subject. It was a really touchy subject but none of it got deleted.

As a person who has won award for excellence in Thread Hijacking I just wanted to be aware of any changes in post protocols I may have missed while on vacation.

The only posts that were deleted were ones with insults or posts that had nothing to do with Thunder.

Just mods taking out the trash. Only time I've ever seen things deleted here(and that's pretty rare) is when threads "descend" into imaginary pissing contests or petty childish arguments.

Compared to a lot of other forums, rules here are very open. And yet this is by far the "best behaved" community by far I've encountered. Other sites have strict rules about what can and can't be talked about, and yet every other thread turns into a pointless "flame war" with two asshats arguing about some utterly trivial detail.

You don't realize how good VMF is until you go somewhere else and get bitched out by a mod for making a **** joke. While v4hondabbs was a good site (when I had the Magna) for info, I had a bad experience with one of their big vendors (kind of a Sean equivalent for Honda v4). Ordered some parts through him, paid, and then.....nothing for a good 2 weeks. Sent emails and PMs, none got answered. Even got another member to give me his phone # and tried calling....nobody answered and nobody called back. 3 weeks in with no contact and no refund, I post on the forum saying what happened (politely). I was out like $80. A mod starts bitching me out for "badmouthing" this "highly esteemed member of our community" and "the public flogging needs to stop". Finally, about a month later, paypal emails me and says it's been refunded. He sends me a message saying he "took a break" from doing parts and service for a while and thought he had filled all the orders beforehand. I asked why he hadn't responded to PMs, emails, forum posts, and phone calls for weeks. He claims he never heard anything. I asked why he just now sent a refund, and he said he "just saw" my forum thread (which had been at the top of the list for like 2 weeks, constantly being bumped by members telling me to go **** myself). Right. I noted in the thread I'd gotten a refund with essentially no reason given. The same mod messaged me again and essentially said I wasn't welcome there anymore. I didn't get banned, but I got my Vmax like a month later so that was that.

Now "nobody" is gone there shouldn't be any more threads getting ruined with his ****** attitude. Why people put so much time and effort expressly toward being a dick is beyond me. Seriously, do people like that really have nothing better to do with their time than insult people on the internet?

WOW, no wonder I didn't see any of his rants in the last VMOA post. Last night on natgeo channel they had a special on the Secret Service. Who do you think was the head of the New York field office to deal with counterfitting? Bob Novie:rofl_200: Aint no way that was him, or was it?
