Do you think he will save it for me? I can use "180-190 horsepower!"

what a nut case! I had seen a 06' that a guy wanted around 8k for a perfectly stock bike.
wackos!

There are stupid people born every few seconds.. So there are plenty of Stupid Buyers out there... :rofl_200:
Really based on the way the bike looks, if somebody buys it it's not a total screw job...

Tell him if he needs a local expert to verify the HP he can view my website and our dyno charts are available where he can verify everything.

190 is plausible, but claiming 200 would just be unreasonable I suppose?:confused2:

Man I wish slip-ons and a jet kit would cough up another 40hp....would save everybody a ton on expensive motor work, chain drives, ect.

My email I sent:

I came across your advertisement for your 1998 Vmax on Craigslist and was wondering if you could shed some light on a few things.

1) What, if any, internal work has been done to the bike's engine?
2) What exhaust are you running, it appears to me to be a set of Cobra slip ons with stock headers.
3) What jet kit are you running?
4) Who did your dyno testing?

The reason I am asking is because your ad says "No BS" so I am going to call BS on your HP figures. Firstly, those slip ons KILL your horsepower, on average 3-5 hp lost when those are put on. Second, there is no way on this earth that a stock internals Vmax will ever make 180-190 hp, ever! I have attached a picture of a real high hp VMax, my own, and I can tell you that I make that kind of power with a ton of cash and tons of engine mods. Now I do not blame you, especially if you took it to a dyno and they actually gave you those numbers. It could be that you have been seriously misled by someone. As this ad has come to the attention of the Vmax community, and by that I mean hundreds if not thousands of guys, and it is being discussed you may wish to rethink your information. My guess would be that your bike is making 110hp at the rear wheel, or the 145hp at the flywheel, that Yamaha states, but no where near the hp numbers you are saying. It is up to you, but I can tell you that people are wondering and I would hate to have to call you a liar in public.

Cheers,
Toxic
