ENGINE BREATHER OIL with COLLECTOR

On my 1300 I was getting some oil in the air cleaner and the carbs were sucking it in and plugging up the air restrictors. She is bone dry now.

I was reading about how NASCAR engines use a vacuum pump to create a negative pressure in the crank case. So, it's got to be a worthwhile thing to do. I made up a system a while back I use when I have the air box on. Which is how I've been running this season. All you need to do is grind off the oil cap tang and drill and tap it for a hose barb. Then a tee below the air box. A restrictor is sometimes used at the bottom of the OEM breather hose.

does this breather thing is only for emissions or is there a performance thing to it?
i have seen somewhere that it helped pulled vacuum and add some hp...:ummm:
