I have had my Max for 40 years in April and way back I found the best way to get it through a corner rather quick was with the throttle. Get the back tire hanging out a little and breaking loose. It’s got the power to light the tire but it feels pretty comfortable doing it. I used to road race back in the seventies and eighties on anything I could get my hands on so rode many ill handling bike but that is the way I used to ride it. Not so much now as I still enjoy it at near seventy years old. They re not designed for real fast cornering.

Have a read of this
This sounds a lot like the 2005 I just purchased last month. The Ohlins inverted forks, ISR bakes, and Dymags have made a remarkable difference in handling on the front end. The Otec billet aluminum swing arms cushioned by Ohlins rear set are the crowning achievement. Unfortunately, the cost in $ would buy another Vmax. The previous owner was clearly chasing a dream that many of us have had, trying to turn this bike into something it was never meant to be- a sport/cruiser. He even raised the foot pegs and controls and set them back another 4" so he could lean it way over in the turns.

When I asked him why he was selling it he walked me into his garage and said "because I just bought this (a 2022 Aprilia Tuano) need I say more?" I can't wait for the roads to warm up, so I can go find out what this hybrid bad boy can do!
