Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows of any build/Mod threads where someone has installed the Motogadget M-unit?

I've done a complete re wire and installed the Bluetooth version, with M buttin and switches, on an 86 suzuki GS, just curious how it may differ on a Gen 1 Vmax (89')

I have the Amplink from Rowe Electronics. It is similar but not meant to replace the existing fuse box.

It is not installed yet as I have not wanted to take the bike down in the Summer. I will put it on next month sometime when the weather crashes.

Hi Simon

Did you go ahead and fit an M-Unit? Guessing from the response on here it's not a common thing? Looking to possibly fit one to my Gen 1 this year.

Cheers

I did!

Only problem I've found is the Bluetooth range is really effected by the seat and maybe the coil wiring nearby

I positioned the m-unit itself under the seat where the original coils were, ( I use COPs)

I can only use keyless entry and Bluetooth connection if the phone is in my jacket pocket, whereas I'd prefer it to connect when it's on the phone cradle on the bars, so I need to relocate the unit nearer the bars maybe

I made use of the AUX outputs for lights, but everything else you can cut at the original fuses and then supply them from the relevant M-unit outlets (ignition etc)

Kill, clutch and side stand switches can still work too
