did u order the 'waterproof' model for $1.50 extra? i got a second invoice like a week later for that then it shipped, got notification via paypal

Yes I did order the waterproof option. Maybe that's the problem. If I knew it was gonna make it a longer wait, I would have just got the standard one and gone after it with a tube of silicone!

i still haven't heard back. getting pissed...

I have not received any response to my email either!:bang head::bang head:
I'm sorry that this guy is not responding. I'm not sure where to go from here.:damn angry::damn angry:

Ok, update: Just got an email confirmation from Harlan saying the light has been shipped! Can't wait for it to arrive, but wish the communication would have been better!

That's great news Bob! I'm sure you'll enjoy it once you get it setup!:punk:
I hope this means Turbohawk will be paying some attention to the service side of things!

Frustrating for sure! Communication is a large part of doing business. If he was busy, I don't mind waiting but a reassuring email would have helped put my mind at ease. Probably really unnerving to those who have been waiting MONTHS for repairs!

From what I have read here , I will not be buying a Harlan shift light .
I would agree Rollie, it seems he is more concerned with sales with the lack of response to the service issues some are having.
That is a shame since I've have had no problems with mine. I think he has a good product but nothing is perfect and needs after sales support to make the purchase worth it. :damn angry:

Your name and reputation go on everything you sell . If you don't stand behind your product , your integrity suffers . That doesn't take long to circulate , especially on a forum .

I bought the shiftlight I have from speedhut and had it in about 3 days and I love it, it was more expensive than the Harlan but it still was only about $100 and for something I like I think it's a fair deal.

so i called speedhut. all their shiftlights can be externally mounted. they are around .8" diameter and would offer 10% for an order of 3 and 15% off an order of 4+

not sure on the $27 option but then $100 option has a lifetime warranty. all shift lights work from 1-12 cylinders and up to 10k rpms...

i don't mind getting a $27 and reporting back...

thoughts?

r you gonna order the 27 buck one? id be into getting one is you need three on order garrett

i figure its worth a shot eh ro? i gotta imagine i can ship it to you easily enough for under $5 eh?

one more and we can get 10% off? anyone?

this is a trial right now for sure tho, they *should* work but obviously no guarantees yet. maybe if they do we can work out a permanent discount for vmf members

ya in a small envelope should ship cheap to here. if it was for V2 id say wait til BR but its for V1 up here.
so anyone else interested, Dan? look nice on 99????

hmmmmmmmmmmmm

speedhut you say? lets look there:

heres a $27 option:

http://www.speedhut.com/product_detail-AUTO_NUMBER-628.htm

and all their shift lights:

http://www.speedhut.com/gauge_products.asp?auto=shift_light

why didn't you go with the cheaper option? i bet these would work fine behind the flyscreen/with some heat shrink tubing on the back and a clear cover of sorts on the front...

Because I'm anal and I liked the way the other ones looked better and I could get it with blue leds to match my gauges, it works great! They don't offer a cover for it for night time riding though but they have a wire that is supposed to hook to your dash lights (irrelevant to us) so I just tapped off the constant hot over to a small toggle switch then hooked the dash light up to that, now I can dim it to it's lowest setting for night time and have it nice and bright during the day. :punk:

makes sense to me man. did it work well so far?

ro -> if we get one more (ideally 2) i'll place the order soon. want to get her buttoned up for riding season! no more soldering!
