Re: I wouild like suggestions on Tires

True but same installation cost on all brands

Re: I wouild like suggestions on Tires

True dat! That's the one thing I hate about replacing tires... Letting people touch my wheels... lol

I actually contemplated buying the machine and doing them myself...

Re: I wouild like suggestions on Tires

Shinko = sticky and fun but wear fast and Metz = less sticky, less fun but longer wearing. TIP: Save yourself some money and order your tires then remove the wheels yourself. Take the wheels and tires to a quality shop that charges HALF to mount and balance tires if wheels are OFF the bike. Be sure to NEVER lay them on the discs tho. When you get your new tires back, it's the easiest and best time to CLEAN yer wheels. Removal and installation of both wheels is easier than you think. :punk:

Re: I wouild like suggestions on Tires

my local guy is up to $50 per wheel. off the bike. it was $25 last year. time to start shopping around again..

Re: I wouild like suggestions on Tires

I checked everywhere in town and they are all about $100 or more woith wheels off the bike. I am scared shitless to leave my bike with anyone after what those 2 places did to my bike when I bought it and tried to put Seans Kit in...

This way I can keep my bike in the garage :)

Neither of my bikes have been back to the dealers or any shop since I bought them. Only the wheels...

Have them use stick on weights so the don't ruin your paint on the wheels...

I always use stick ons. (No not strap-ons you sickos!)

Re: I wouild like suggestions on Tires

Sorted... Man... First mistake I've ever made and you got to see it.

Re: I wouild like suggestions on Tires

Just giving ya shit........

Re: I wouild like suggestions on Tires

So a 170 will fit on the rear with no modification? With the 150 on there now it looks damn close to the driveshaft, I can't imagine anything bigger fitting.

I'd think a wider tire would be to your advantage. Skinnier tires may "flick" faster by providing a smaller radius of rotation, but fatter tires will have a larger contact patch and more traction.

Re: I wouild like suggestions on Tires

Sometimes you have to move the washer from the right side onto the left inside the hub. I'm not keen on doing that. A lot of people have been able to mount them up with zero issues.

Re: I wouild like suggestions on Tires

no one has yet to report having to do the washer swap with a shinko. couple have had to with the metz.
