Re: I wouild like suggestions on Tires

If you're going to sleep on your tire I would go with the softer tires for sure.

Never bought two REAR tires for ONE bike before. We'll see... :confused2:

I am :confused2: you have a front and rear listed not 2 rear tires???

TM makes a 120/90/18 both in front or rear... i would get the front.

they look similar but not really

haha np. we've all been there. take a pic of each tho i'd be curious if they are different

Good idea and will do. Now on to the the front-end shakes problem if these crap dunlops weren't the cause.

very well could be. the 120 up front i think makes the bike more suseptible to the wobble b/c theres more of a chance of runout. once u get it mounted see if there is any visible runout. my first 120 shinko had a lot, and a wobble, then i replaced it, no visible runout and wobble was gone. then once i took it out after the winter i had a tiny bit of visible runout and a tiny wobble. all decel hands off wobbles, so easy fix (keep my hands on the bars) and my damper keeps it under wraps most times.

spin the tire or look over the bars while the tire is moving. should see a straight line as the edge of the tire, runout would be any wobble. some is expected but not much.. i wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks Garrett, I'm not worried I just hate reading things on here and saying to myself
" what is that " So I decided to ask instead of wonder, thanks to guys like you and the others on here who put up with us uneducated ones someday I will know what the hell I am doing.

Just got my Cylmer manual in the mail today and it's very interesting. Speaking about tires, I got a new set I have to install and I have a question

With my bike on the centerstand if I put wood blocks under the front just behind the front tire and in front of the rear tire will that give the bike enough support while both tires are off ?

Thanks
Ron

I support my bike with the wheels off the ground by using the centerstand and a 2x6 cut about 2" longer than the measurement from floor to the bottom of the frame brace that runs in front of the engine, above the oil filter. I took this measurement while the bike was on the centerstand and front wheel on the ground. My front end is lowered 2" so I knew I could use the 2" measurement and still not have the rear tire touching. If you do not have lowered suspension the 2x6 block will have to be shorter.
For lateral stability I used a piece of plywood about 1/2 the length of the 2x6 and 4 - 5" wide then securely screwed it to the 2" side of the 2x6.
I originally made it up so it would be easier to clean the wheels but have since used to change front wheels and used it while I did all my front brake work. I suppose you could use two 2x6's and the plywood and it would be a little better but this works for me. I'll try to get a pic if you want one.
