i could some people being finicky when bringing them to a shop and taking them off. but a lot of people have had problems with stripped bolts. i'd leave them on unless you really don't trust your shop. or take 2 quick pictures of them before you bring them in so if one comes back with a huge gouge u have proof. the touchless ones really would have to work hard to gouge it out though so i, personally, wouldn't worry about it or take them off.

Every time I bring anything to the stealership I get it back with a scratch or two.:damn angry: A few even looked malicious.

When you take your wheels off do you leave the disks on?

will this fit on vmax? 160 60 15

im looking at a bridgestone battleax, thats what my front is so i guess ill burn 1 up on the rear quick and see how it works, dont know if it will fit though?

fit? yes. look weird? yes...

the 160 would have a 96mm sidewall where as for example the 170's most guys run have a 136mm sidewall. I bet your acceleration would be crazy!

quick calculations put that tire as a 10% less circumference.

the reason im asking also about this tire is.. i talked with my uncle on the phone (riding harleys since 18) i told him im planning on ordering a shinko or metz and he says in his experience tire brand/model are meant to run together and can make a huge difference how the bike handles. is it common knowledge to run same tire front and back?

I always run them in pairs. Tires are designed to be run together. In a lot of cases the front pushes the water out and the back then has a "dry" spot to run. My Metz Zed sixes are this way.

nice, ya i see that is from motorcycle superstore. damn, i dont know what to do. i have a brand new bridgestone battleax on the front! what would you guys do? buy the rear to the battleax or buy 2 new tires?

I'd buy its mate for the back...

Some people aren't as picky about this stuff. My idea is there's ONLY two tires on a bike... I want them to be set up like they were designed to be.

What is the price of the one back tire?? if it's more than $134 you might want to consider the set I bought and see how you like them. if you are going to spend the same amount why not go for something that is known to be a nice sticky tire that rides nice but just doesn't last as long. You can keep your bridgestone and use it another time. For some reason I have never liked the stock tires on any bike.

I went oversize on both. Both have been tried and they both fit good, so others have told me.. and plus a bigger tire always makes the bike look tougher in my opinion
