Good I got the right ones.........lol
I've run both on both bikes and developed severe front end wobbles on the '06 with Shinko's....it didn't like them at all! I now have a Metz Lasertech ME33 on the front with a Shinko Tour Master on the rear and no more wobble! When I wear the rear down I will go back to an ME880.
The '99 had ME880's and I switched to Shinko's and she loves them. No wobbles anywhere....rock solid to 120 or so but I will go back to Metz with this bike also when it's time for new tires...overall, I like them better.
For me both bikes will be switched and will stay with ME33 Lasertec front 110's and ME880 Marathon rear 170's.
Plus I agree with rob.....Shinko is just too close to Chinko IMO!!
i have a 07 and with the shinko front and rear
I too have to say that the front end wobble is f;n scary
Heck i was thinking of selling the bike but if a simple tire swap would fix it
That changed my mind.
ME880 Marathon rear 170-80-15
ME33 Lasertec front 110-90-18
Correct?
Any suggstions on where to buy them?
I highly doubt that the shinko tires cause the wobble, it may be something else or maybe that specific tire, not all shinko cause wobbles.
At least the research I did on them didn't indicate that shinko tires would give you a front end wobble.
I just wish someone made a radial for the stock 15" rear. Not enough demand? How about the thousands of max owners who want them?
i think it can highly contribute to it.
They're out there, but they're made for large scooters, that weigh in alot less then the Vmax.

To just name a few.
There are obviosly different opinions on this tire debate, I guess I can't say for sure until I mount mine and try them out but are you saying Garrett, that if you buy shinko, you are likely to be buying a front end wobble and if you buy a Metzler you are not??

rated for 677lbs and 130mph. also designated as a scooter tire. is it safe:confused2:
eagle i really think you're going to find a difference in opinions b/c i don't think many guys have run both.
i stick with shinko b/c the rears have lasted me about 5-7k miles and the fronts almost 10k. and they're cheap. i run oversized front and rear.
When I first asked you said the above, I'm a bit confused :ummm:
So are you guys now saying the 120 for the front ( oversized ) is a bad thing???
Whats the circumference difference? Would it look like a vmax with a scooter tire?
One up would be safe.
I've never agreed on running a 120 on the stock width rim. I run a 120 on my carr's and they're an inch wider.
