ignition timing advance mod.

I have a question, This week I put together one of those timing advancer`s with the 470 ohm and 4k ohm resistor pack but, I`m not sure just what application it is used best for 1: taking off w.o.t. from a stop sign ?:confused2:
2pening it up on the freeway ?:confused2:
I`m worried about burning plugs from pre ignition cause I don`t want Max to swallow any thing metal.
I haven`t used it yet cause I want to get some advice on the proper usage of this modification.
Once again I am calling on the wisdom of the elders.:worthy:

I have and found it works best with a stock bike. I have Morley's kit with full exhaust and changes were not noticable even with dyno charts. I took mine off.
