If you use the search function, you can find there are some ways to get that result. One used for those who have a Corbin seat, is to add a short piece of rubber gas tubing, and then a female screw-on fitting, and a male threaded cap.

Does anyone have a link to a replacement gas cap that doesn't require the key? Thank you.

I have a Corbin seat and leave an extra key in the cap. Maybe not the safest in the world but I live in the sticks. Who would think look in a flap in a seat to find a key???? Maybe more people now.

Probably a safer thing to do would be to get a cap from a bike with different ley.

Here is a post from a while ago that I posted about just this subject

You have to change the tank neck to accept a twist-cap. Some solutions below.

Some people with Corbin seats use an extension to put the gas cap closer to the top of the hole in the seat, and then use a screw on male & female gas cap and tube. The tube attaches by fabric reinforced rubber gas line rated tubing to the OEM gas tank neck w/hose clamps.

Here's something you would need to attach a piece of tubing to. They have aluminum, stainless steel, and steel bungs (the female threaded part).

You could also hit your local parts yard and remove a neck and screw-on cap, just find something the same size as the VMax neck which is just-over 2" o.d. Take the rubber tube too, as that material is expensive if you want to buy a length. I think I paid $20 for a foot at NAPA, years ago.

I just tried that eBay link and it is stale but if you go on a search there for the type of fitting I described you should be able to find a current offering from multiple vendors

Some choices.

Two inch tube, removable gas cap screws-on, but allows a 'push-through' of the gas dispensing nozzle to eliminate removing the screw-on cap. A 2" o.d. tube is close to the VMax neck. $44 from Summit Racing. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/tnk-ffn

Prefer a pop-up knurled cap you remove by a screw-on/off function? Same supplier/manufacturer & sizing. $95

This one is the priced-less leader @ $40. Same dimensions 2" o.d., and the tube is 5" long. Same supplier/manufacturer.

Use a solid band clamp instead of a traditional serrated/slotted 'hose clamp.' They're sometimes referred to as 'fuel injection clamps.' Hose clamps with the slots in them chew-up the rubber.

Slip the rubber hose over the tank filler and the other end over the new piece of tubing opposite the new screw-on end. As mentioned, I bought a 1 ft long piece at NAPA, and used 3 or 4 inches of it, and 2 clamps. I had cut-off the stock filler neck just-below the part with the notch in it, because the cap wouldn't release. I've posted about other ways to avoid having to cut off that and how to remove a rusty or frozen gas cap.
