It looks like a bomb has blown in my garage... Some overhauled/cleaned/polished parts. And some new ones waiting for assembly... So many things to do and so little time...

Well good news
What better birthday gift than going to get my freshly painted engine? Big smile in my face. Color came out better than i was expecting... Compare to previous pictures to see the upgrade. I want to thank all that gave me their inputs regarding paint type. This was done using 2K primer, paint and varnish. Final result is below. Cheers dudes

Fred, did you polish the differential yourself?

If so, I'd take any pointers you can offer. I'm thinking about doing this. I don't think I'm ready to invest in the cost of chrome for it but I don't mind spending some time to polish it myself.

No i don't polish major items like this. I take it to a local polisher that polish all my hard parts like diff, calipers, forks, etc Look below the forks he polished for me. When its parts that may get moisture on them i polish and then clearcoat them with a 2K varnish to last longer. No one does proper alloy chrome around here so i need to do it this way...

Assembled the radiators and the rear end to see how the final result will be. Polished the handlebar controls but i thought it was common to do it so i decided to paint them in gold as well. They're gonna match pretty well with the golden grips and levers i ordered yesterday. Now waiting for them to get everything assembled as well... Slowly but moving... Its an endurance race... :biglaugh:

Ahh gotcha. Ok rather than keep bugging you in a PM I will open my ignorance to the fora.

What kind of effect will the oil cooler have? Will it simply keep the engine cooler during use?

Yes it does. More oil heats less and passing by the cooler improves the "coolness" :biglaugh:

I have an override fan switch and i never need to use it... And on the other bike that doesn't happen...

And that's all polishing....no chrome? Looks killer! Somebody's got sore fingers after polishing all that stuff to a mirror finish!
