Right Garrett! It's a 6 inch tire on there but of course all six inches are making contact! Looks like a shaft breaker to me! A Carrozerria still sounds like a better performing option to me albeit more pricy. Only cool factor is it is a first year wheel.

Now i got sideswiped... PATMAX did you have any question? I ended up not getting it...

Well. Finished another wide wheel. This time upgraded the dampers fittings, rotor adapter and bolts a bit for weight saving and to have a cleaner look. Added a bracket for a 298mm rotor at the rear with bluespots. Overall the build was even better than the previous... Another happy vmaxxer... :punk:

Looks awesome man!

Picked this up today along with a set of Pingle wheelie bars, a cherry true 1985 exhaust canisters, and some bodywork. PO (previous owner) said rim was machined to accept the tire. I have no idea what would have to be done to accomplish this. If anyone knows, chime in. It is a true wrinkle wall drag slick.

Captain Kyle needs this more than I do ! By the way, if anyone needs any of the parts, they are for sale. Exhaust is a 9 out of 10 and not even cleaned up yet! Nice find for an 85 pair. One front pipe got curbed but the miracle are the cans of course.

When in doubt...Gas it !!!
I saw all this stuff the day it came out & thought about it but I was already driving to Vero to pick up another 85 & did not feel like driving to get these to.

Fred, I think Patmax was referring to the '85 drag slick setup that he recently purchased being a "driveshft breaker". The topic kind of went astray.....he wasn't referring to your wheel!

Nice work! :worthy:

Oh yeah... I didn't mean it in a grudgy way. I was just trying to check if he wanted any question answered, it just seems that he posted it thinking this was a thread for general new wheel setups...

Sorry for confusion Weasel. I wish you were offering your wheels to everybody here. Work is professional and well thought out! Wish you were closer! Keep up the great work.

Oh no worries mate, you just got me confused a little bit back there... I can ship wherever, the problem is that the shipping charges are high as you may understand and that may bring the rim to a value that might be a bit more than expected. I usually charge 550 euros for a complete wheel like this one (sometimes i cut a discount when people order some more stuff), ready to install, powdercoated to color of choice, no donor wheel needed, bushings and rotor adapter included with stainless bolts (as depicted), so just swap and play, I'd say that for shipping alone it should be around 100 euros. Looking around and checking that most of widening services charge about 700 to 800 USD and you have to give your stock rim in exchange (keeping the vmax look), that might not be that bad. It depends on each one. These i can say for sure that are well made, and the pics speak for itself. Either way as you all know i don't live out of this so this isn't a priority for me. Its just a hobby and allows for finetuning of building and machining capabilities...

I keep running across some GSXR wheel that I like there brand new aftermarket wheels that usually run about $ 1300 bucks & I can get them for 275 from time to time. I might have to send you one or send some pics & see if you can convert it for me.

650E = $875 ish, so its really not that much more to get it done through you, as you said though shipping is a killer. i got to imagine it takes a couple weeks too.

Takes more than that. It takes about a month because i can only take care of this on weekends and the rims go back and forth from the machining shop to the rims specialist guys. So it starts being checked for straightness and straightened if needed, then goes to the "lab" for rough machining hub and rim, then goes to weld, then back to rim shop for straighten again if needed and powdercoating, then goes back to the lab for the fine machining and specs and damper and bearings fitment... Its roughly this, a step per weekend if theres nothing that keeps me away from it. I also try to have a life besides all this... :biglaugh:

If more rims are needed i can cut a discount or offer shipping, it depends on the deal... Virtually most wheels can be used to do this but i would get away from the newer style rims because they are too flimsy (weight reduction) for a vmax application. Im talking about the rims being able to be taken to the limit of torque and speed.

oh i can only imagine it takes that long, i meant a week or two just for shipping!

Not sure if this helps, but shipping to Poland was $99 via fedex one way, they actually tracked the wheel pretty good. The wheel go there in a bout a week and I got lucky as customs didn't slow it down even more. One word of advise, anyone looking to ship a wheel outside of us DO NOT declare full value of the wheel on the form, if you do YOU WILL have to pay extra taxes on it, put in $50 or something to avoid that.

Thats when shipping to within EU. They have strict rules about importing items from outside the EU. In Portugal items valued above 22 Euros are held for tax but thats not strict, depends how lucky one is...
