Good prices is this all I would need?
Yes + fork oil
How difficult is it to do myself or are there places I could go to have it done if I buy the parts?
Without wishing to state the obvious it will depend on your ability but yes, it is a relatively easy job to do.
The majority of time is taken by dismantling to get the fork tubes out. Once done the only awkward part is loosening the fastener at the bottom of the fork.
The later damper rod doesn't have a hexagon which can be used to lock it in place. Trot down to your local friendly mechanic and as if they will use their air gun to unscrew it.
I'm sure there are shops that will do the job but as I have indicated, it is well within the scope of the average home mechanic.
Is race tech a brand that is serviced at most major bike repair shops? Never hear for used them before but trust your recommendations!
Can't say as I've never tried to use a repair shop for this job.
I have the Racetech springs and emulators on my bike and once the static sag is set (you must do this!) I can't fault them.

What is the static sag? also im good with electronics not mechanics so to be safe ill just reach out to some local mechanic shops and see what their rates are to install. Prob safer going to yamaha dealer. I dont trust putting my bike back together and it being road safe worthy haha

Static sag is how much the forks compress when the weight of the bike pushes down on the forks and also how much further they compress when the rider is in the bike. Have a read of this.

IMO the only reason folk think they are not good with mechanicals is that they don't know what is involved. Often, once the process is understood (or de-mystified) then they realise that they are capable of doing the job.
Without wishing to sound sarcastic, provided you can read and understand basic instructions, that you have some tools and take your time then fitting springs and emulators is well within the scope of a reasonably intelligent individual. By definition (but with a few exceptions) as you own a V Max you must be intelligent.

Have a read of the attached which details the processes involved with fitting springs and emulators. A copy of the Service Manual and/ or Haynes is also an advantage.

By all means get a couple of quotes to have the job done (Helpful hint: As about Static Sag and if they look blank walk away as they don't know how to set the bike up) and then decide how better you could invest the money you save by doing the job yourself.

"By definition (but with a few exceptions) as you own a V Max you must be intelligent." gave me a good chuckle. My fiancee would disagree as to ive been in several accidents (none my fault and the first one involvine truamatic brain injury) and says i have no brains left to keep riding but it has only made me wiser. With each accident & settlements upgrades went into sound and lighting to be seen & heard from far away. ( and make sure everyone around me listens to good music). My last bike was sold not wrecked so so far the method has been improving!

I will look into these links in a bit and see. I build LED walls for corporate events im pretty savvy but just having expertise and right tools can make a difference when it comes to my bike not falling apart on the road while i ride after ive done repairs vs someone i can blame haha.
