One more question (I'm full of em'). Since my oem o-ring wasn't bulged, do you think it would be a good idea to replace it with the oval Kawi one? I know some of you guys had trouble with it being too tight. I wiggled and tugged on my oil line and it didn't budge!

Your 2006 has Yamaha's upgraded oil delivery system. You shouldn't have any problems with the o-ring.

have fun putting that gears circlip back on. that had to be one of the worst experiences i've had on the bike. didn't help i was on a 20? concrete floor.

Yep, that's why I was asking so many questions. I had the thing ripped down to that point but I couldn't wrap my head around how the hell the gear came out! I figured I had missed something. I'm gonna try to do a "how to" on it when I am re-assembling.

Thanks. Its always good to have opinions, I think I'm gonna leave it be and just check it every oil change through the oil sensor with a scope. On another note, I can't believe how clean the inside of my engine is! I'm use to seeing them all sludged up and crappy inside on other used bikes I have had through the years.
