That's OK mistakes happen. I would try the peashooter. ..maybe shotgun. ...then see how the bike runs.....then look at the mileage.

SDT354 mentioned carb cleaner in the bowl vents, should I do that when I'm doingthe peashooter? Also...... where are those located?
Thanks guys!

So I'm guessing the bowl vent is the 90 degree hard elbow that comes out of the top of the carb?

Should I just do the shotgun method since I'm in here?

Yes I just did one carb, gonna finish it up....... we'll see

I'm kind of worried that I screwed up on the A/F mix screws! two of the carbs are done, gonna do the other two right now. If I did screw up on them how hard is it to adjust them? Also how wil the bike run if I did mess up on them?

I think I messed up on counting the turns in and or out on 1 or 2 of the carbs. I dont think the screw driver was actually in the head of the screw the whole time I was counting! I'm actually at work doing this, I havesome midnight paperwork to do then I'm gonna take it for a ride........ I just hope I dont get stranded!!!

Oh....FYI after doing a shotgun on the carbs....the bike is a little bit stubborn to start. Make certain and use the choke.....and shouldn't be an issue.

If the A/F screws aren't right it will just not run good correct? I should still be able to get back from a short ride? On the right side front carb the A/F screw did not want to come out!! It took a little while but I finally got it, and that one had some gritty almost sand like build up on it. So I am hoping that could have been the issue......

Sooooo frustrating!!! It runs WORSE than it did before! In 4th or 5th gear it starts about 40-45mph it completely falls on its face! I have to give it alot of throttle and it hesitates for a second or two and then it will accelerate, but not like it should. I'm lost from here! It literally feels like the fuel is getting partially cut off or something is blocking it but when I open the throttle and flood it with gas it kind of picks up.

Yes, that was the first thing I did when this issue started. One thing I thought was kind od weird is all the A/F screws were 3 full turns out except one, it was only 1.5 turns out. Is that normal?

2 1/2 to 3 1/4 turns out is average for us. Factory setting can be all over the place because they are set for emission purposes. Many of us tune for acceleration & performance, because we're power junkies. I think any stock motor will run well at 2 1/2 turns out for a starting point. Seat them lightly, then turn them out. A tight fitting flat screwdriver is best.Even if you have to grind one. Best done when you have a needle out, to check the fit in the slot.

I'm going to try the shotgun again and see if that helps any..... Now that I've done it once it should be a faster process. Any bits of advice for the procedure??

How much compressed air are you using? I believe I used about 80-100 psi but haven't done the shotgun in several years.

Make sure slides are removed so they aren't damaged.
