Thanks KJ.. PM sent.

For the one that isn't going to be able to come out b/c the sleve that it screws into came loose, is that ok just sitting in there ya think?

It seems to just be resting on the filling between the baffel and the outside of the muffler. i don't think it will slip thru or do any harm, does anyone know what exactly is between the two?

Thanks!

Yea sorry its the allen bolts as you said.

From looking online it just looks like its fiberglass in there or something.

i also tried to get the front part out (that the disks bolt onto) by removing the two bolts on the side/bottom of the muffler but it wouldn't budge.

It shouldn't be a problem with one screw not fastened. after you get the two bolts undone you shoulod just have to wiggle the core to pop it out.

I'll have to look at mine, but on my old trapp setup that was the how you pulled the core in order to re-pack the baffle.

I'll get the allens in the mail tomorrow morning.

I dont' think it will do any harm in the meantime having one bolt head off and one kind of in the packing....

in the long run i don't think it would do much harm having that one bolt in the packing but i want to try to remove the core.

Which part is removable? The metal "disk" that the tuner disks sat on, right? Does the mesh core come out with it?

it would be a lot easier if I could get the damn exhaust off... i don't think its welded on or anything but there is no brackets or clamps holding it. May need some heat i think..

didn't help i was doing all of this in 30? weather @ 7:30pm last night in the dark minus a spotlight.. hah

Anyone know how you get the baffle out of these things. I tired
pulling and wiggling on them pretty hard did not even move it. or don't they come out ? Don't see any bolts anywhere or
are they just pressed in?

If I remember, there are two bolts holding the baffle in. They are toward the end of the muffler. Drill a 2x4 so that the holes align with the 6 bolts holding the discs in. Find long fasteners and push through 2x4 and screw into end of baffle. Use washers. Pull on the 2x4 by twisting and turning.

I was having the same problem, even with removing the bolts. Thats a great idea with the 2x4. I've also heard if you remove the bolts and the entire slip on you can use a dowel rod (wood) to gently tap it out. That seems like a pain tho.

Mark, do you recommend getting different bolts b/c the ones for the disks are too short to fit between that and a 2x4?

Is it a common enough thread to find at HD or lowes?

Yeah, you will definitely need longer bolts. I think I got mine from Ace hardware. Just bring one in to match. Otherwise, you can always put different bolts and just tap the baffles to match.

cool cool.

that should be easier than ripping the slip ons off..... i tried to get them off before but they didn't want to budge. no clamp or anything, so i need to get some heat on them (hopefully the previous owner didn't weld them..)

How have you guys gotten them off? Maybe i don't need to tho, my cobra's had to come off to do the rear tire but doesn't look like the supertrapp's will....

Mark. You the man! that worked perfect. I had 2 bolts not being able to be used so i had 4 of the bolts and it pulled right out as i got a little heat and pb plaster on it. I didn't realize the whole thing pulled right out tho, i thought it was just the disk that the disk bolts screw into...

thanks to KJ for the bolts too!
