I'm actually a pretty nice guy but even I have my limits, some of the ******** that Dave has said about lawful gun owners on here has rubbed me the wrong way.. I honestly really don't have any ill will against him but if he seriously believes his own ******** then it just seems like a waste of perfectly good oxygen...

Hey Dave, did you see how they handled the Boston Marathon suspects? They sent guys with guns out, shot & killed one, so far....and soon they will get the other one too.

They didn't start ramming legislation thru requiring background checks to buy pressure cookers or limit the size to 5 liter max....they hunted them down!!

Danny, yes I did. The authorities did a outstanding job of tracking these guys down. Even reached into my home town of Dartmouth and New Bedford. The event is still unfolding as the contacts are chased down. Still, I have NRA/ Right Wings friends complaining about the police . It seems the police forced people out of their homes during the search in Watertown. Some don't feel that was right. That people's rights were violated by the police. Everybody has their opinion. One thing about all this concerns me. Even with all the taxpayer money spent on national protection, the patriot act and all, twice Russian intelligence contacted the FBI and gave a heads up about the older brother, he still was able to actually pull off the bombing. I would like to know who dropped the ball and why. I think the idea of intelligence is to stop this stuff from happening. We have lost a lot of freedom under the Patriot Act and for what purpose?

This might surprise you...but I think that we have lost freedoms because of the patriot act...but one question...why do you have issues with the 2nd amendment...which is a FREEDOM?

This disturbs me too Dave....they found those guys within about 48 hours, no easy task for sure....so why didn't they do something with the heads-up?? I don't get it, they know just about everything now....all the whens, wheres, hows.... :confused2:

You seem to be totally oblivous to what I have been saying. I have no issues with the second amendment but you do. IMHO the Second Amendment is not a freedom but a Right that leads to a free society. Try reading the entire amendment. Wasn't you that wrote you don't care how the Courts interperted it, you knew what it meant and then you recite only the part that you want totally omitting the rest. You know, the part about a well regulated milita being necessary to preserve a free society. What I do have a problem with is before all the Sandy Hook children are even buried you guys are whining about " your rights". I found that inappropiate and distastful, unbecoming of civilized people. These kids were butched, everybody involved was sick, from the parents, police and first responders. But since I didn't jump on " The Gov. and Obama gonna take my guns bandwagon" I get jumped on here. I guess many didn't really try to understand my point or I didn't make myself clear. Whatever. But then it goes to my point doesn'r matter because in a "Free Country" I decide to live in Mexico. Then some ******* wants to argue with me on how dangerous it is where I live while as far as I can tell never lived here. Plus one of my Vmax " friend" posts a very negative review on Amazon about my wife's and my experience living here while never reading the book. To prove what? That he is an ignorant *******. I have to deal with the Patriot Act every time I cross the border. At any time I can be detained for any reason by the Border Personal. Border guards know this and for some it goes to their heads and treat people like ****. I have to smile and take it when that is the last thing I want to do. So explain to me just what freedom means to you.

Danny, yes. Under the Patriot Act his phone calls and email could legally be tapped and read. Was DHS watching him to see if they would be able to uncover bigger events and terrorists higher up? That would make the injured in Boston simply collateral damage. I really don't want to think like that, but.....

I try not to think like that but how long did it take to get the Atlanta bomber....something like a year...year and a half? These guys....less than 48 hours....:hmmm:

Well unfortunately I couldn't find the post because there have been so many posts about the 2nd amendment, (but lets start at the top...) After you had posted (I believe a law professor from Austin) his interpretation of the 2nd amendment, I did say that didn't matter, because his interpretation doesn't matter. The only interpretation that does matter is the US Supreme court.

So..let me gets this right...you have no issues with the 2nd amendment...but you always want to bring up INTERPRETATIONS of it...instead of reading it and and taking it at face value?

Hmmm I thought the Bill of RIGHTS were about Freedom...so RIGHTS=FREEDOM.

What was brought up AFTER sandy hook...was the government USING to for further the governments OWN agenda. REMEMBER...NEVER LET A GOOD TRAGEDY GO TO WASTE.....The Democrat Motto.

I guess that you have forgotten the timeline....YOU started bringing up statistically how unsafe guns were, and how many murders there were in the states...so OTHERS brought up how many murders there are in mexico...and how UNSAFE it is there. *** for tat.

I don't care for a LOT of the parts of the patriot act, because I believe that they do take away from our personal freedoms, but then why do you want to take away responsible gun owners freedoms?

Unfortunately there are a lot of people that are afraid of freedom, Freedom means that you have the right to succeed, and you have the right to fail. Unfortunately people want the government to be all for everyone.

We can now see how easy it is to shut down America. Two nuts set off a couple bombs, 3 die many, others terribly hurt, and a city of 1 million plus is shut down. The over all cost to the American economy will run into the billions of dollars. The terrorists win.

The cowardly crazy terrorists will lose two of their insane ranks but the impact on America and the world is and will be staggering. Politicans will go nuts, police will go nuts, and people will live in more fear. The terrorists win.

The call will go out for more police to protect the people, more survillance to protect the people, more government control to protect the people, but will or can anything be done to protect the people. The terrorists win.

They could pass a law to outlaw and ban all nut cases, but that would put congress in prison. They could pass a law requiring background checks on anyone buying a pressure cooker or nails, but that would create a lot of hassel for grandmothers and construction workers. The terrorists win.

I find it interesting that some sicko kills a bunch of people with a gun and it's the gun's fault, but some sickos kill people with a bomb and it's the BOMBERS fault. Maybe congress needs to look into BOMB control. The terrorists win.

A person with a gun feels they can protect themselves, those without a gun are HOPING some government entity or someone else will protect them. They are beginning to learn what real fear is all about, and that is when you have NO CONTROL over your life. The terrorists win.

You might want to go out for a little walk today, because tomorrow you might be under a government ordered, controlled, and forced LOCK DOWN.
