Thinking About A Goldwing

I have owned a goldwing of one shade or stripe for the last 15 years and I consider them as vital to my cycling enjoyment as the vmax. I put more miles on the wing as it is able to carry all manor of stuff and get you where ever you at going with out beating you up. Add in that they are surprisingly nimble and quick, offer great wind/rain protection and you have a true 'all around great bike'. Really can't say enough good things about goldwings. Of course there is one glaring downside to them.

You will never daydream about a wing like you do about you max.

run around 70 on the threw way when it's raining and never get wet..... till you stop :rofl_200:

The video eludes me but there is a video of the guys at honda driving a goldwing and doing a course and the way he drives this thing is crazy. I'll try to find it a little later.

Personally, I like the Goldwing. My dad uses his as an everyday driver and couldn't be happier with it. My wife and I took it to Philly from Elkton, MD and we loved it. Very comfortable and you can set the cruise control and relax your wrist from having to hold the throttle back. And really the worst was low speed stops. That was the only thing I had to adjust to otherwise it is a great bike IMO.

My 'Wing, an Aspencade, although over 30 years old, runs like a champ and is very comfortable. (I also only paid $2K for it a couple of years ago.) It's a good bike, but in my opinion, it has zero thrill factor. For that I have the VMax and the M109R.

Here's a photo of the wing (in the background - no exclusive pics yet...)

i have a fully dressed 78 wing. i've sank over $5,000 into it...... since i bought my vmax i no longer ride it. been trying to sell it for over a year now, and no takers. i'm only asking $2,500 for it....... so it sits in the garage. all well, the older it gets the more it's worth, seems how it's not far from a total restoration, lol.

Just traded the FZ1 one got a smoke'n deal on a F6B , not really a red guy but for the price and amount I got for trade I'm not complaining .

I'm jealous. My only dislikes of the F6B are no cruise control and no rear trunk, only the two side bags. Awesome bike though, congratulations!

I am watching the F6B with great interest. Congrats. I'm not much of a Wing guy, but the F6B appears to have satisfied most of my issues with the Wing.

I got a deal on a 2012 FZ1 last year ... 6500 when yamaha was running push it ... pull it ... drag it and and money back and the trade had some value that I got for nothing .
I did 10500 out the door plus the fz1 and I was very happy . Dose not compare to the Vmax's just like my first gen compared to my 2013 Vmax .
The Goldwing in F6B form is a cool big sport bike ... i was allmost dragging the pegs on the big girl .
Its big with lots of torque , once you get moving the bike handles great ... I from the school the motor makes all the music I want to hear but half way home I was comfortable on the bike I flicked on the radio ... Its kind of growing on me .
Not sure about the non detachable bags ... Now that Honda is back to building Valkyrie ... Useless bike vmax will spank that bike all over the road .... I'm thinking the F6B with the Valkyrie rear fender would look cool ... Bags could grow on me .
