Hey Danny,

You need to get some HID setup on your bike. I just did mine for about $40 with a 55w Hi/Lo 6000k color and its SUPER SUPER SUPER......Did I say SUPER bright? Going to test ride it in the morning but my garage is like daylight with it powered up!

Hey Mike,

I like the sound of that but not familiar with the tech talk, starting with HID (which is prolly High Insensity somethin'), ending with 6000K color and everything in between!! :ummm: :biglaugh:
I guess I don't get out much!! :cwm27:

Maybe you could PM me some info from the "Illumination for Dummies" lighting manual? :rofl_200::rofl_200::rofl_200: I'd appreciate the heck out of that. :worthy:

+1 on the hid, what did you do and use for a set up micheal? sounds like a wicked mod, need it up here in the yukon, when its dark its F'n dark up here

Ok, the link above shows the setup I just installed. Its a 55w 6000k H4 Hi/Lo setup for a mere $45. Its well worth this money in my honest opinion.

I just rode the bike into work this morning at 4:00am. Damn, this thing on Lo lit up the world to me on my stock housing! Looking around at all the motorists, my light was a crisp pure white with plenty of front and side view. I didnt have to adjust my light beam either since I retained the stock settings. I carefully was watching motorists in front and passing to see their reactions to assure my beam wasnt too high, which it was not!

This install took me a few hours of cussing with trial and error to hide all the wiring harness. The final view is a clean wiring with no obstructions. I fit most of the HID harness in the left scoop and one behind the scoop above the engine rubber barrier.

I can totally recommend this for anyone who desires more lighting since I ride out in the countryside of Maryland and there are plenty of wild life you come upon while riding.

I have given the link to the install manual for these lights since its too big to upload here:

https://www.ddmtuning.com/support/index.php?_m=downloads&_a=viewdownload&downloaditemid=11&nav=0,1

I would rate this install a 4 out of 10 since it wasnt really all too hard to setup if you follow the instructions.

Hey Mike, any chance you could take some photos of your install and a little writeup? Like Danny said, I don't know anything bout this HID crap but it sure sounds good. I'm not too concerned over the wiring part, I'm more interested in how guys are mounting it in the headlight, aiming it, and making it able to be adjusted :confused2:

Been thinking about the silverstar bulb or whatever as rec'd by Garrett for $25. That seems like the easy way out.

Thanks Mike, that looks like a hell of a system, especially for the price. A couple pics would be greatly appreciated if you could do that.

You cant beat it. I was running at 90/100 xenon bulb that was bright too, but this wins hands down. I will try to take some general pics. The wiring is tight so I dont want to pull apart what I have in place, but I will just tell you its a no brainer to do this. You just insert this HID bulb in place of the stock. Its tight but it fits just fine while re-using the retainer lock nut and waterproof boot. After riding for 40 minutes to work, the housing was cool and only the glass was warm, which is typical from any bulb usage.

Anyhow, I will get some pics and try to take a pic of it lit up with hi/lo beams. Again, I didnt have to adjust my beam from the stock settings since it seems fine and didnt blind anyone either!

This just added more of that adrenaline smile to when I ride my vmax since it just makes riding a better SAFER experience!

That sounds great Michael, I will look to do this once I burn out the ebay bulbs (2- 55/100 bulbs ) I picked up for $12. I figure they should burn out pretty quick for being so cheap butthey are better than the silverstar I replaced. There's another mod to add to the winter mod list! MM will be pleased!

Hi Brian,

Those bulbs do last a good long time. I have a collection here of them with the latest xenon 90/100 watt ones an ebay 2 for deal at 6 bucks.

Maybe it's different but I also did the relay mod which made a huge difference.
Don't worry Rovic, I have a full season of Steeler babes for all of you to enjoy with blondes, brunettes and of course redheads!:worthy:
Great photo's, you and KJ have some beautiful landscapes to ride in. :thumbs up:

thanks man, just missing a convoy of vmax to make the town rumble hahaha.

so these are the lights to get eh? wont burn up anything/melt you think. definitely need something for both bikes

Well I have only riden with them just today since installing but the person on here who turned my head to these has been using this stock setup for well over 2 years without issues. As I said, the housing stays cool and only the glass warms up, which is typical of any bulb.

+1 That's some "Big Country" up there Rov....just beautiful! Maybe someday we can shake a few rocks loose from those hills with a convoy, how cool would that be!! :punk:

that would be totally awesome :punk::punk: take the ferry over to juneau then over to haines alaska, then ride back to whitehorse, be a nice loop. one day one day.......

What could be better than blasting down a road with a bunch of friends on Vmax's with snow capped mountains to look at on the horizon!:punk::punk::punk::punk:

I started the fabrication of a mount for my acewell gauge. Also, installed the upper fork covers I made to complete the black out of the forks.
