just the LEDs. love 'em.

in another note a local guy had a vmax i helped do the flywheel with and have gotten together for a few beers with, sold his vmax to a 'collector' who has over '50' vmaxs in his home in NY and buying all vmax's in the northeast. Sean did u come out this way? haha

in a sad note, the guy i work with went down last friday on his max 1/2 mile from here. Not sure on details as when he finally called me back he was a bit out of it from the morphine. he'll be ok but looks like months of PT and skin grafts are going to be needed.

if he wants mags or something i'll let yall know.. still getting news from a friend of a friend of the wife of a friend type thing...

Sorry to hear this Garrett....tell him other maxxers are pulling for him!! :punk:

Went to the paint shop and picked out a nice shade of satin black. During Thanksgiving break, I'm going to strip the body work from the bike and prep them for painting.

So that's who bought Nobodys supercharged Max ?

Not just today, but since Friday:

Painted the faded aluminum back to black on the engine. Got some gloss black engine paint, sprayed it in the cap and brushed it on with a hobby brush. It looks good!

Went to put a new tire on the back, ended up putting new wheel bearings front and rear.

Since I had the front wheel off, I figured it was time for Progressive springs, so those, new bearings/dust seals and a new tire are what I did today. That's enough for one week! I hope this makes a big difference because the front end couldn't feel any worse. Harsh, unforgiving and very little shock absorption going on. I'm afraid I would go over the bars if I hit a big pothole dead on.

My freakin bad! :rofl_200: I don't know how to do thumbnails, so here are big pics. I will get the chips filled in and try to get the engine clean as new, like the heads.

I was wondering what else you could put in the cluster. Voltage would be a good thing to know.

Ordered a tiny assed, backlit, digital voltmeter to add to the intrument cluster.

I'm going to put it in the blank spot next to the high beam indicator.
I'm getting it from these guys;
http://www.martelmeters.com/

here is the unit I chose. http://www.martelmeters.com/pdf/DPM_1AS-BL.pdf

interested to see how this turns out.

very nice, plus ur bud there. i have one of my own. 89 lbs black lab. girlfriend raised him as a seeing eye dog, doesn't know how to bark or growl.

Thanks! She's a good dog. Knows how to bark and growl, just won't do it. She 81 pounds, pretty girl.

I'm interested to see how that voltage meter works out too.

Got my 17" COO wheels with Metzler Roadtec Z6 Interact radials installed and went for a short road test....it's only in the high 40's!

Huge difference in the handling characteristics with radials, smoother ride too.

Lookin' good Dan-o!!!!! Like the polished outer rim with the powdercoated "spokes", they match up nicely with the look of 99!

Thanks guys! :worthy:

Bill, I don't know what, if any, the offset is.

Michael....Puleeeze....am I that transparent?? :rofl_200::rofl_200::rofl_200:

Very nice look Danny , did you notice a little extra acceleration with the 17s ? :clapping::clapping:

:punk:

Yeah, Rollie, it did seem snappier...but it was pretty cold & very windy, I need a nice warm, calm day so I can really feel what's going on.

I must admit to an uncontrollable wrist spasm that resulted in a quick blast up to 120 and it felt like it was on rails. '99 has always been a great handling bike but with this wheel/tire combination she feels like a totally different....and about 100 lbs. lighter....machine.

Now I gotta find an electronic speed monitoring thing and figure out the speedo error.
