So what's this, has the evil primate taken over everyone? Well not here, I have successfully learned how to...well, you know what, I'll just hold that thought until I'm sure.
You know with all the radial conversions happening over the past year my monkey thought I'd be easy, but maybe now he thinks differently. See my monkey has seen my checkbook over the last summer and has taken to sitting in the corner of the garage and just thumbing his lips. I think he is trying to figure out what to do, but he's not a quitter and has told me as much one day while running out of the garage in a fit of frustration. He's also had several heated conversations the MMMMP(Mod Monkey Master Mod Planners) at the home office. Since the group over in Milton, Ontario and further east, had such great success he was expected to keep pace. I'm sure he'll reach into that toolbox to try a mod or two on Redbone but I'm quite sure it will be feeble with whatever it is he attemps, such is the sorry state he's in.
If I'm lucky I'll join the radially shod Vmax ranks soon enough, but it will be on my terms not by some evolutionary challenged tree climber that is directed by some greedy primates in a monkey-poo-on-the-wall boardroom!

That was hilarious!, Redbone! I've seen that little bitch monkey hiding in the corner. I didn't know he came with the bike, but I'll be damned if he doesn't.

So I got my '96 parts back from my buddy's shop yesterday, wheel bearings put back in, new progressive springs in the forks and went to work putting the bike back together. The @(*#$ FORKS ARE BENT. MOTHER @*#$^. I thought I was going to have a problem getting the back tire on, but with the front off I just lowered the jack and slid it in there. I bolted the exhaust back up and put the license plate back on that I had previously removed because even when letting the air out of the tire, with the front wheel on, the BACK WON'T COME OUT without tipping the bike over (or removing the rear fender and that looked WAY too hard). Always fun by yourself.

So it's time to put the forks back on, I slide them in there, hold my tongue just right and line them up. Snug to hold and try to put the fender back on. HAHAHA hohohoHHAAA HAAAA. I force it and it goes. Try to put the wheel on and there's not enough room for the spacer and it won't stay in there worth a damn anyway. That's when I realize the effers are bent. (My first clue was the fender and the tire were pointing different directions)

I twist the tube a little and watch it move out. After fucking with both of them for nearly two hours trying to line it back up, the bike rides straighter than it did previously and the fender is on straight enough. The idiot I bought it from told me he nearly lost it when the bike wheelied, I assume he bent them when it landed. Wow, the VMAX wheelied and you were surprised? :bang head:

BUT WOW on the Progressive springs (1" lowering spacer). The front end is a rock, no dive no pull and potholes glide by. Went for a quick ride on the bumpiest road around here. With the new Me-880 rear, the whole bike was an inch taller so I lowered the forks in the triple tree by about half inch. Made a lot of difference but we'll see later today when I get to go for an extended ride.

Don't know if I'm doing my mods logically, but I'm doing the best I can, what with that little bitch monkey over there in the corner taunting me that there isn't anywhere NEAR enough chrome on the bike. :confused2:

I've come down from some pretty huge wheelies and never bent a set of forks. Something else would have had to bend them.

Broke out the autocad and started working on the new nitrous arrangement.

I had them on the old dragbike, It would be sweet if someone made manifolds for the Vmax, I've talked to a couple machinests in town, but they're not to sure what they would charge me to make them. I'm now looking for a company with a CNC machine so I can just send them the 3d work.

That would be sweet, when I get them finished, I'll shoot the drawings over for a quote and stuff. Looks like I'll get a bit back for taxes this year so it will be around the end of december.

I was planing to machine custom set of manifolds for EFI in the near future.
I have some good cnc machine shops around.
If You will give me the basic 3d view I can figure out some price.

Curently Im working with steering damper bracketery but Im not CAD champ so its progressing slowly.

I have some Garys 2d raw draw. I should have a printed one with filled mesurments.
I was thinking about welded manifolds from 2 parts to minimalize the cost.
Single chip billet will be much more expensive.

The monkey brought my bike to the shop of a friend this WE carrying a bag full of parts and . He told me not to worry much about and everything will be fine.

On the list, tuneup, minor issues to fix, new covers for the seats, ricor valves, solid mounts, belly pan, front fender, engine paint...

I have to hurry to chose a color for the body since the current orange is fading but I'm still wondering which one...

I'm also checking for a sport tail section since my GF is willing to participate to the budget... so far I really love that MV agusta style....

Ordered a tiny assed, backlit, digital voltmeter to add to the intrument cluster.

I'm going to put it in the blank spot next to the high beam indicator.
