Found my charging issue was a bad stator, replaced that.
Bike was still running rough so i changed the plugs, took it to the gas station and put fresh gas in it then ran the shit out of it till i got home. seems to be running good now, maybe just needed that from sitting for 6 months :confused2:

Damn it feels good to be on the road again, even though it was only for 30 minutes. New front end feels solid as a rock too :punk:
Great to hear you're back on the road Bill!

I got a nagging oil leak fixed. It was the middle gear cover. Trusty old Yamabond used. I've always has good luck with it.
Cleaned her up. Powder coated the hub and rotor adapter for my Kosmn wheel a silver metalic. Even though it won't be very visable when the rotor is on.

I used my DIY carb sync tool to royally screw up the sync on my carbs. I guess it was closer the other day than I thought. I also found through lots of reading, that I probably have carb 4 too lean and might have the other three with high floats.

Did some cosmetic touches, still trying to design the knee plates to esthetically match the bike. Put a new set of plugs and took it out for a couple hours. Saw a Hayabusa pulled over by 2 cops right by my house. There's a long stretch that everyone flys on and after further info found out he was 23 was drinking and was clocked at close to 200 mph. On my second time pass I saw the bike on a flatbed and him in cuffs in the patrol car. Dumb ass!!!

OK drinking and driving is bad enough... I can not even fathom drinking and riding a bike?

That being said, I dont drink anyways.

Me either, I was never a drinker. Then I lost my brother John to a drunk driver. I personally think anyone who drinks and drives (or rides) should be punished severely but I'm sure there's someone who can even condone that. That's Fucked up.:th_flipthebird:

Weather was so nice here yesterday, that I threw the bike back together and we rode 150 miles. Not too often you get 77 degrees in the middle of March! Bike ran great, and I think its because I filled it with "pure" gas (no ethanol), and let it sit...no starting or filling the bowls over the winter. It ran a little rich at idle, so I might tweak the A/F screws in a little. Awesome day of riding!

Booze makes people feerless and foolish on a bike. Glad I don't ingest it. Or ride with people that do it while riding.
I'm going for a test ride after I top off my oil. Fixed the leak yesterday on the middle gear cover. Nagging pia, never hit the groung but it's a pain to loose oil.
My rear wheel collected it. I hope I got it and there isn't another.
While cleaning I saw a wet fork seal. Time to deal with it. I'm diligent about keeping dirt off my forks. I think it's time for a seal cleaning tool too. If the seal looks good I'll try the cleaning tool.

Gen1 Vmax rear calliper monkey mod

R1 1999 front left calliper
Vmax front rotor
home-made calliper braket
Mcmastercarr rod end
Home-made alluminium rod end tube (not finished yet)

Put mine back together after redoing my instrument cluster. Only thing left to do is put on the Cycle one off brake bar that the folks at bikesponsors.com bought me. I have a cute little blonde gal that is going to get her picture with the bike and part for the next video. Then I'll install the bar and then chant to the gods for a speedy spring breakup so I can get out an ride.

That looks wicked! However, aren't you worried your rear brake's going to be a bit too powerful?

I'm asking 'cos when I mounted a (larger diameter) chinese wave rotor on the rear of my '86, I found myself locking up the rear quite a lot - I guess the fact that all the weight of the bike goes forward under braking doesn't help..

Just gonna have to be 'feathered-toed' :biglaugh:

After getting my gremlins out of my charging system this weekend. I jumped on it and burned out the tank of fuel - refueled burn that out and topped off again and put 40 more miles on it. So all in all I got right at 200 miles of good seat time and mpg are looking about 30ish with playing 1st through 3rd lol.

I had that problem , very scary and unpredictable . Changed from stock wheel with a Shinko to Kaw 750R wheels & Michelin radials and the problem went away . USD Kaw front end & 6 piston brakes might have helped a bit too .

I put my center stand back on today.Blasted and freshly Powder coated semi gloss black.
It's a pia not having it on. I had to heat and bend it to fit Marks 4-2 exhaust, but just a little. All I can afford is a nice, claen, good running Max right now. Radials will be on this year though. If the new 180/55/17 rubs, it'll give me an excuse to notch, brace, and powder coat the swingarm. It'really ugly now. Paint doesn't last long on a swingarm.

Taking a break from studying to solder up the nitrous arming and purge switches and inline fuse assembly. Made progress on the arachnid prototype. If it works out all spiffy, it will make installing a nitrous system, practically bolt on simple.

for vmax's or any bike?

Mounted my new digital tech next to the Speedo so now they match, but I can't seem to get it working 100%. For some reason the stupid RPM display will not effin move. :bang head: Tried everything I could think off, so I gave up and went to sleep. :damn angry:

Yesterday I got my carbon scoops from Tyga USA. Fast delivery, nice product. Pity they are closing down. Get some carbon gear now if you want it!

Got my new levers and chucked them on.

Am about to go out and do a bit more re-assembly before bed. My v-boost controller died, but not before oscillating the servo back and forth for a while.
Seems to have broken some teeth off a plastic gear in the servo. The last thing that happened before it died completely was start to come on at 3000rpm, then hit the broken teeth and the spring would pull the cable back. Then it would come on until it hit the broken teeth... etc etc etc

I had a spare servo, and I have wired it up to the programmable Ignitech TCI module which I got from Dingy.
Quite confident that I have it sussed out properly. Hopefully I have enough photos and info to do a thread on it. Provided the magic smoke doesn't come out. :rofl_200:
NEVER let out the magic smoke. :biglaugh:

Thinking of getting handlebar risers. Can anyone post pics of how their clutch line is routed? Esp those with ss lines. Wondering if I can make a tighter turn to get a bit more slack.
