Buttoned everything back up and fired it up. I'm still on the rich side. But, I'll tackle that after the tests are over. It shouldn't be much more than a few more turns of the a/f screws. The voltmeter works like a charm. At idle I'm 13.0 volts. When I just turn on the bike, without starting it, it drops to 11.8/11.9 but when I turn on the high beams it drops a volt to 10.8. So 2 HID headlights when on eats .9 - 1 volt. not too shabby. :biglaugh:

The nice thing is that everything works as it should, so I'm basically done for the summer.

I'm at almost 14 with the HID beam on when idling. They just eat up when warming up i guess.

I'm not sure whats going on. last year they would light up pretty damn quick. I'm thinking a new R/R is in my future. My battery needs to be replaced too. The NAPA battery is dying after only a year. Teach me to go on the cheap side. :bang head:

Just went on a nice long End of Winter ride with a bunch I met on meetup.com (NOT a dating site lol) It was a great ride , and well a lot diffrent than riding by your self, there probably was 60ish bikes together, all kinds, some sports bikes, mainly cruisers, some trikes. Naturally I was the only Vmax there, had a few comments from other people about the bike. While getting gas I actually met a former vmax owner Apparently he turned his into a drag bike, nos, upgraded cams, ect ect. Never did say why he got rid of it though.

Thanks guys,
In the photos on my facebook page, I have a section of certificates. From the state, national fire academy, FLETC, and other law agencies. I like to think I'm I'm not shy of hard work.
Indeed KJ it shows, from the many and varied interests that you enjoy, I have seen a high level of accomplishment and commitment to excellance. I have no doubt of your success in your quest to become a nursing professional will end up being a rewarding career for you. I worked with many levels of nursing while setting up speciality hospital beds in burn units, ICU, CCU and the nursing staffs are the lifeblood of patient care!

Are you using a marine-quality gauge? I have thought of making use of some gauges I have, old Stewart-Warner white-on black gauges but don't think they would fare too-well in rain. When I saw what the gauges of the 1950's go for ($$) it made me go check mine, which are from the early 1970's, apparently, from what info I could find online. I like how yours turned out, and the use of the spot for the toggle.

I don't have any bulbs in the Autometer gauges, so I'm using a line that would have fed a bulb.

Don't forget we sell all that stuff now too guys since we expanded into the performance auto parts market!

Sean
