I'm going with a 200/50-18 and from all the accounts that I've heard that the 3" stretch is still good to go in the twistys.

Id like to go 200 in the rear but I don't think it will fit with my chain theres a 170 on there now with like 1/2 clearance from chain. I think mine is extended it looks like it but not sure

Further:
" A blue light may be displayed upon a motorcycle, so as to be
visible from a point directly in front of the vehicle, when operated by
an active volunteer member of a fire department or company duly
authorized as hereinafter provided, and while such vehicle is in use for
fire or other emergency service
.
No volunteer fireman shall be permitted
to display a blue light upon a motorcycle as hereinbefore provided
except while actually enroute to the scene of a fire or other emergency
requiring his services
and unless he shall be an active volunteer member
of a fire department or company and shall have been authorized in
writing to so display a blue light by the chief of the fire department
or company of which he is a member
, which authorization shall be subject
to revocation at any time by the chief who issued the same, or his
successor in office."

Sounds like you want to use the lighting as a static display. Just remember you may run afoul of the wrong PD member who chooses to write you, so be careful about where & when you light 'er-up.

I am I fireman. :) plus it has to be pulsing of flashing to gave it constant is ok as per local PD I ain't gonna drive with them on anyways. Couldn't pass it up for 45 bucks from a local parts guy gave them to me at his cost

Didn't even get time to get another radiator cap today.

But my Mark's exhaust turned up!:eusa_dance:

Might go steal the radiator cap off my car.

Got everything double checked and tweaked. The LED voltmeter now reads what my handheld meter reads. Turns out there was a pot on the back of the gauge for adjusting. now I'm over 13 at idle and up to 14.1v at a fast rpm.

Kind of Vmax related. I cut out a Les Paul shape body and routed it for pickups and hardware, then painted it black, with a few coats of clear to follow. I then took the nice shiny chrome pickups, and other hardware and hit it with the red anodizing paint I used on my Vmax. The neck is assembled and now I'm thinking on how to shape the head.

When everything dries, I'll start assembly. I'm thinking probably Thursday. I still have one of the "Vmax" emblems left, so I'll be putting that on it. Then BAM! a black and red, matching Vmax guitar. :git:
So you rock and roll a V-Max lol both are loud, get a photo of it up when all finished.

Dude, you gotta have the had shaped like one of the ? intake? scoops on the max. That would be extra cool

I took a friend for a ride with me last night. I worked with her husband for years, we are very good friends. She had been watching the photo's of the Max on Face Book and she calls me and asked when will she get a ride on it. She has rode with other people and understands how to ride, so I tell her I will drive out and pick her for a short ride. I get to her house and we take off. I am in a small town with 25 mph speed limits every where so I just take it easy as we leave town on a back country road with some traffic. We get about 10 miles away from town and there is no one in front of me, I been just doing the speed limit of 55. I get this long straight away, I drop down in to 3rd gear matching up rpm so she will not feel the gear change, lean forward. She yells out to me, 'Paul what are you doing......" as I hit WOT and we take off ....... she tucks in on me as we zip right on down the road and yells "you better keep this thing under a 100," just we pass it, I back out of it, as we come into a few curves, and found a car in front of us. I take her to the next town and we take a smoke break for her lol. We return to her house and her husband looks at me then her and asked me if I 'scared her' I told him I might have. She claims if it had wings it could fly, lol. She really like the looks of the bike and said well it is not H-D that is for sure.

I glued my throttle to the handlebar (not to the throttle sleeve ... to the metal handlebar itself).

Ever since getting new grips a couple of years ago, the throttle grip has been slipping, so this weekend I glued it.

Unfortunately, some glue got between the plastic throttle sleeve (underneath the grip) and the metal bar which receives the throttle sleeve.

So imagine my surprise when I started the bike up and twisted the throttle! Well, the glue was a bit wet still, so it turned slowly under pressure and then stuck. I took it for a ride thinking I had invented a great new cruise control ... but I was wrong.

Upon shifting gears the engine revved like crazy and then I had to consciously think to untwist the go juice. It sounds fun, but it was not. Really distracting.

Sooo ... long story short, I cut off the grip, removed the sleeve, used caustic chemicals to remove the glue, put everything back together, and ordered new grips. I got some nice ISO grips which come with proper grip glue.

Hehehe ... live and learn.

lol I did this the other week when installing my new bar end mirrors. I tightend them up to much and it created pressure from the inside out creating resistance on the throtle.

I thought about that, putting the "scoop" in the upper right hand area. But that would take more time, and I wanted the guitar done for a photo shoot this weekend.

So you rock and roll a V-Max lol both are loud, get a photo of it up when all finished.

Here is the body, pickups, and the stop piece.
I still have to shape the neck, get it painted. but everything on the body is ready to go together and get soldered up.

The colors are a little messed up, my battery is dead in my camera, so I took the pictures with my cell phone, the body actually came out a nice mirror finish, but between the reflection of the dodge's hood and the crappy cell phone pic it looks rough. Kind of cool though, you get the ceiling lights reflecting off the truck's hood then the guitar body.

I have my last mid-term tomorrow, then classes on Thursday, Friday, I should be able to put it all back together.

The pickups frames are black, they're just picking up a lamp on my desk.

That's going to look really cool. I'm not musically inclined at all, but I wish that I was! I can still appreciate a good-looking instrument though (giggidy-giggidy)

Thanks,
Here are a couple of better pictures of the body, its got quite the gloss going on :). I'll have the neck done tonight, so friday, I'll start putting it back together.

The Monkey was pissed off cuase I put a black tail on my bike & started hollering at me this morning so I painted the tail & decided I did not like the side covers & scoops silver so I painted them & the instrument cluster to & put some billit foot pegs on. One bad thing is the paint shop mixed the paint about 2 shades darker so now I need to redoe the front fender & faux cover to I kind of like the dark better any way so I guess I will redoe them when I get the chance. First picture with old tail & silver scoops & side covers the next pitures with them all painted to match.

I took my Max for a ride that started yesterday morning. I left my house in Louisville, Ky. and drove up to Indianapolis In. I picked up a small moving truck, loaded the max up in the back and left for Handover Park Il, Which is on the upper west side of Chicago. I got the max out of the back and started back home. I stopped to meet, Lugan a forum member to pick up a shorter kick stand from him. I made it out of Il. and back in to In. It was late and the temp has dropped, so I picked out a hotel to lay over in. Got up this morning and finished returning home. If it was not for all the traffic in and around the Chicago area I might have been able to pull the trip off in one day, but to the bottom of Chicago from my house is 350 miles, but then I have the side stop of the box truck. So I got around 475 miles of seat time in on my MAX in the last two days. The best thing of the whole trip other than meeting Lugan was the fuel was paid for by the person that bought the box truck.

Pc'd my 85,(new to me thanks to Texas Tornado) front wheel, black satin. I looked at it and decided something is missing. So, I started polishing the lips. That means the rear wheel needs the same treatment. I like it. I can polish a little strip, I used to do the whole wheel. Waiting on a spacer washer and new radial. Should be here soon.
