Me and this little green Tinkerbell are tearing down the Archangel. I figured I'm not going to use the faring from the old drag bike so I tossed it outside, when something pretty damn cool happened. I'll post the picture and what happened later when I finish up and take a shower.

sweeeet, thats awesome dude

Like Paul Harvey would say, and now for the rest of the story.....

While I was working in the garage, I grabbed my old drag bike's fairing and tossed it outside next to the garbage can. I forgot the windshield wasn't screwed on anymore, so it fell off.

Then a light went off. So I wired it up to reshape it, added some heat. Then mocked it up on Archangel. It lines up with the flat headlights nicely, but it will sit a little lower that what the pictures show. Needless to say, I'm now going to make a bracket. I'm liking the way it looks. It should clear the new speedo/tach. :punk:

Oh yeah, I started using the orbital sander on the bodywork. I should be able to shoot some paint in a couple of weeks.

Its a blurry picture, but here is my new instrument cluster. Temp, Volts, Oil pressure. Then below the gauges is Neutral, Vboost on or off switch, and the last two are blinking LED's for oil and fuel.

I didn't want to screw with any more sheet metal, so I went to a trophy shop and had them cut me a nice hunk of plastic, then I shaped it and drilled the holes. I was going to take it back to them and have them engrave what LED is what, but I'm liking the plain look.

The dash looks good, KJ. Say, is the 'trailer hitch' on the left switchpod some AV mount or something?

The bubble looks like something from an early '90's bike fairing. I have a couple of old Shoei fairings, that were really-popular in the 1970/80's. The handlebar and headlight/turnsignal mount ones, that Emgo copied and still sells but in abs instead of the Shoei's fiberglass. Every once in-awhile, I slap one in-place to study its appearance, but I have never installed it. I got it (1 of 'em) on a KZ1000 I bought.

So now you have a long time to work on the bike! See you on the road in May. We all are interested to see what mods you decide-upon.

so that absinthe, is that a home brew hahahah

Its actually Lucid brand absinthe. I dropped the bottle and put a crack in it, so I cleaned out a wine bottle and poured it in to it. Then I looked at it and thought to myself that it needed a label, so I fired up the trusty Paint Shop Pro and made the label. The pictures colors were enhanced in the graphics program, the real color was actually more pale, so I tweaked it a little.

Exactly, That is the Ram mount for my GoPro.

Changed my brakes today, wow. The back ones were almost completely used up. Feels totally different, I can stop my bike with my pinkie

Worked on prepping the bodywork for paint and checking out them sweet little batteries. I'm thinking about adding one to the wanted list.

Which brings me to this topic. I want to thank all of you, who has been watching my videos. I sincerely appreciate the fellow Vmax support. :punk:
I hope by following the Bikesponsor.com thread, I've convinced you that it isn't a scam. When I first started, I was skeptical. You guys could have flamed me hard. That's why I posted the details as they happened. If I was going to fail and loose money, I wanted you guys to know. It turned out to be a very good thing for me. I've enjoyed the 9 months I've been with them and I've really enjoyed not paying for the things I received. When I finish painting the archangel, I'm going to design some graphics and have decalkits.com print them up for me. Come spring time, I'm feeling the bike will be looking pretty sweet for 2013, unless the Myans were right. Then it will look pretty sweet for some future paleontologist to dig up :)

I started feeling a clunk when hitting a bump in the road today. The bike was stable otherwise. I loosened up all the fork pinch bolts, Wentt to back off the stem top nut and it wasn't very tight. Adjusted the head bearings a bit(new this yeas) the tourqed all to spec and went for a ride over some speed bumps on the street. Good to go Steve-o.

ive had that on both bikes so usually just the top nut needs a snug and good to go. but after i rebuilt one set, progressive springs and 20w oil, all is good over the bumps.......for now hahahah winters coming dont think i will get out on v1 anymore, out working and if i cant get back east before nov thats done also.grrrrrr not happy

I cut down the pillion, now it's level with the flip up. Pulled the upholstery off the main seat and prepped it to get cut down.

Although is sounded good, the plastic I got from the trophy shop cracked when I snugged up the gauge's mounting brackets. So I made a new face plate out of 1/4" lexan. Took the dremel tool and fine tuned the fitment. Then I used my orbital sander and went over it with a fine disc, prepping it for gluing and paint. Then organized my electrical stuff so I can start soldering the voltage regulators to the LED's. Finally I took the grills out of the scoops.

I hear from Joe this morning, My louvered tank is on its way. After school, I took some time to spend on the new nitrous tank.

Its a 20oz tank, so it I'll have the same capacity as running the twins. I'm going to mount it on the left side of the bike using some brackets I'm designing. The tank was a paintball CO2 tank, so I removed the valve, took the wire wheel to it, then replaced it with a nitrous valve and oil filled gauge. I think it turned out pretty good. Soon the solenoids will be here, then it's time to modify them for the nitrous and fuel handling. I'm still on the fence about jetting at the solenoids like the Wizard's systems, or at the foggers like NOS, NX, etc... I'm leaning towards jetting at the solenoids for a "In the airbox" setup and at the foggers for a conventional manifold system. Two systems are going to be built. One for my Vmax, and another for a friend's. Next summer, it's, Let the testing begin :)

Make sure the bottle is rated for the high pressure of the nitrous.

I got a grip on it :biglaugh: comming up on 30 years of using the giggle gas, it's starting to soak in. The tank is rated at 1800psi, and carries the same specs as the nitrous bottles used by NX, NOS, Zex..etc. Good point however, for someone considering doing the same thing.

On the same topic, Those fiber HPA tanks for those thinking of using one of them cool things. The liquid will eat them thus causing a big fail. Speaking of fail, both burst discs rated for nitrous and CO2 are rated for 3000psi. So, again if people are thinking of doing this, make sure your using a nitrous or CO2 burst disc and not the high pressure air tank's, which can be as high as 7000psi depending on its it's a 3000 or 4500 psi tank.

Hi everyone, i just have a question for you. I have to change my rear brake rotor on my vmax 2004 and i want to know if the stock rear rotor of an R1 will fit on my bike ? Or the size is different?

I know that i can put some R1 rotor on the front but the rear is the same that the R1 or not ??

The back rotors are 282mm on a max and 1998-2001 R1s had a 245mm rear disc.
2002-2004 had a 220mm rear disc. I'm not sure about the other years
