I really hope the monkey knows what he's doing, because I don't

Make sure you start a thread when this project starts.

How many degrees are those clip-ons? I want to mount clip-ons, but I am uncertain on the angle I want. Would you be able to send pics of them mounted above the top (both at the + and - angles) clamp once they come in? This way, I will be able to tell if I want 0* or 5* ones.

Thank you.

I finished the install of the mufflers that I bought from Sean. They sound freakin' fantastic!!! Thanks Sean!!!:punk:

Very deep tone and loud but not rude. They also have baffle inserts that can be installed to reduce noise a little too.

It's the solstice party weekend up here. Couple that with the full moon people, things get stupid real quick. So I worked on the house a little and scored a never used, still in box, weather station for $25. I get to pick that up Sunday afternoon :)

Also worked on a couple of plate nitrous setups for car/truck applications and a fogger setup for a snowmachine. I also put more time in another special design, that is Vmax specific, I'll post that one up in a day or two.

No problem, I'll take lots of pictures with different configurations and start a new thread when the parts come in

I bolted-on about 12 horsepower, I figure. When I was up at Daytona this past Bike Week, I went for the Saturday morning ride to the Deland Airport for lunch w/about 18 bikes. Joe of Boxenstopp VMax fame, in Hollly Hill, was where we met to use as the point of departure. There were a lot of modded VMaxes, including both Gen I & II's. Two guys on Gen II's both had carbon-fiber wheels, which made their wheels worth about what my bike is...

So, after returning to Boxenstopp, I was looking around and saw Joe had some of the cylinder plates which bolt-on in-place of the vertically-oriented double-bar stockers. These replicate the finning of the cylinder head, and are horizontally-oriented. Joe gave me a great deal, I had seen them in the Exactrep catalog, and had always admired them. So, I got'em, a souvenir of Daytona Bike Week '13.

I hadn't gotten-around to installing them until today. When I had my engine out in the recent past, I had sandblasted it and painted it black. I didn't bother masking-off the fins, I just shot the entire engine. So, today, I used my Dremel & a 180 grit flapper wheel to grind-off the cylinder head fins' paint to bare-aluminum, and then hand-dressed the same w/180 Norton sandpaper. After that, I installed the additional cylinder fins, which took all of about 5 minutes. I rolled it out to the end of the driveway to see what "twelve more horsepower" looks-like in the summer FL sun. See for yourself!

My bike is filthy. It needs a disassemble & refurbishment of all finishes of primarily the frame, brackets, wheels, swingarm, and whatever else I haven't done . Some stuff I had powdercoated, the triple trees, the headlight/handlebar area brackets, the sissy bar, and the scoops, leaving the big stuff for later, once I had taken-care of the mechanicals. I'm where it should be time to do the disassembly, but I want to ride my bike for awhile before I do that. Maybe in August, when it's no-fun to ride because of the heat/humidity.

You can see my huge exhaust can which makes my UFO 4/1 bellowing beast into a 'stealth beast.' It's titanium, so though it's bulky, it's pretty-light, and it really took the 'bark' out of the almost painful UFO 4/1. I don't notice a difference in performance, maybe if I went to the strip & switched them & ran it, something might come to-light, but from my use around town & on the expressway, I can't tell the difference, apart from having more hearing sensation than when I had the UFO 'bologna-cut' "muffler," or the UFO megaphone I replaced it with at-first.

And now, what's in the box? Hint:

Got the vboost working thru the IGNITECH module I got from Sean and Dingy helped me set it up. The IGNITECH software interface sure is slick.

Thanks for your help Dingy!

I stared at the two oil spots on the garage floor under the rear portion of the engine. It was frustrating to still see little drips forming on the frame and crossover pipe.

Received progressive front shocks and wavy rotors in the mail yesterday put with rest of stuff to do in the winter.. kinda can't wait

Please post your pics of the Earles-style front fork you have, where you are installing your Progressive Suspension front shocks, as I am familiar w/that only on a sidecar rig. :biglaugh:

I've had my current Vmax for 2+ years and I finally got around to adding HID to my projector lamp. Wow, what a difference!
