Only found the silver ones on ebay....have to keep looking and you mean u used the wires from stock lights and just used the supplied bulbs....anyways looks awesome. Now need to find bigger tach to take speedo location:punk:

Search for "vapor stealth" to get it in black - I picked up a genetic kit (there were none listed for the Vmax), the dash came with bulbs and bulb holders but they were the same as the stock lights so I saved myself some time

Was just gonna ask about which model you bought. You have the part number by any chance or any will work....wonder why all the diff models....
So you did buy the bulb holder or made one.....the holder is almost as much as computer lol.

Thanks

I bought the holder but could have made one cheaper, thought there was something special about it...

The differences in the speedo options are all to do with the type of temp sensors, the length of the speed sensor and if the tach comes with a resistor or not

Cut my gauge bracket. Tested the rest of the wiring that i could. Got my heat shrink. Just gotta pick up a couple grommets and washers so I can mount this thing. Then I've gotta wait to do some clear this week and the bike will be pretty much done.... for now.

What I did to my Vmax, was rode the heck out of it. Great weekend, I rode up to NH and had a real good time. The ride up and back was a breeze. I hit the city in the wee hrs and got right through easy. I want to thank Wayne-o and his wife Gina for their hospitality. They are two people that do the Vmax community proud. I wouldn't miss an invitation if possible. We had a few Vmaxes, and others, on our ride, great people. We got to meet some of the local bike croud, including a Gen 2. And, a real down home swamp Yankee in a one horse town. Gas station, general store, old geezer included that likes to yell at everybody....lol Hasn't been off his property in 80 years. NH has some incredible scenery and roades. Wayne-o is a blast to hang out with. We did a few role on's, always a good time.

Chased an oil leak. Removed rear wheel, shocks, swingarm and inspected the output shaft. Removed output shaft. I'm not convinced its the culprit but I'm not sure what else it can be. I found oil in the swingarm. The diff is full. Engine oil low. How else can it get in there?

Placed an order for new output shaft seal, o-ring and crush collar. Planning to replace the seals, put a little RTV around the o-ring and hope that does the trick!

If the oil is black its engine oil, otherwise its final drive (yellowish and thicker). Check the output seal for damage.

Put the new brake setup on. Single disc and caliper and holy crap! Simply amazing difference. Yamaha could have saved money this way and not gained a reputation. Just wow!
