It is a 72 or 73 Suzuki RV 90 another little 2 stroke bike I need to do something with one day. I also have an old 68 Suzuki TC 200 Stingray in the back. I don't know if I will ever do anything with it at this point.
A walk across the shop for a broom is a tour of a Bike Museum at Kyles place!

Took one of my customers on about a 75 mile ride yesterday. This is the one I just finished putting a transmission in and painting the motor and body work. I also put new tires, brakes and a starter clutch in it.

Worked on someone else's as normal . Naturally all the damage was over the brace . I pulled all of it I could yanked a couple holes as expected. I built it all back up with weld so going to be very little filler.

Your repair looks like little filler will be necessary, as you said.

Wouldn't it be easier to cut-off the cross-brace to dolly it out, and then MIG it back together?

Just in from the Peoples Republic of Boulder, CO.
This is one eye-cathin bike, thumbs up, pics, and stares every
where you go.
Cons? people tend to unknowingly drift toward me while they're
videoing the bike on the road.
People hangin out so close they trigger the two-way silent alarm.
Still, I LOVE MY MAX!20230902_195228.jpg20230902_195154.jpg

I think we got everything in order on my customer/friends bike and we took about a 100 mile ride to be sure before he goes back to Florida . Main problem was COPS and secondly some charging issues

I decided to have fish and chips for lunch so I hopped on the bike and rode out to Pacific city on the coast and had lunch at the Pelican brewery. It was a beautiful fall day. Thanks to the wife for the heated handgrips. I had to use them today. I guess summer is over.

Went out again this evening for a joy ride to put the bike thru the paces and continue to get use to it. After basic maintenance when I purchased it I needed to replace the grips and added bar ends a couple of days ago. Really all it needed in the short run to finish. I did bump up the preload pressure on the forks to 14psi this morning because it was a bit too soft for my liking. I also set the tire pressure on both to 33psi, as recommended by the manual to my weight. Seems to work just fine so I'll just go with it for now. Man, I love this bike.

I've found that the air pressure in the forks is a very significant thing to check, for proper operation.

Supposedly the Progressive Suspension springs eliminate the need for the air pressure. I don't have them, but that's what the factory directions say.

I'll remember that Fire-medic, the next time the forks need to be serviced. Thanks for the tip! The manual recommended 14.2psi max, so it looks like I topped out on the pressure setting. Seems ok now after the ride and bumping it up made a big difference and it was significant.

Yes it makes a huge difference!
