Yesterday: Finished taking valve clearance measurements and checking current shim sizes. I talked Sean into sending me the shims I need as the local stealer won't do swaps :bang head:

Today I replaced the rubber/cleaned the vboost manifold. I removed the old seals/cleaned/replaced with new seals the valve cover bolts. I also cleaned one fork tube in prep for installing the Race Tech springs/Emulators.

The intakes on the front cylinders were in tolerance. The rest were a little out but not bad.

I have 27k on the clock. My gas milage sucks, 23-25. I have a strong smell of fuel at idle, po had 160 jets(I put in 150's), 3 stage 1 needles and 1 stock needle. . I'm checking the float levels this week.

Hey I also ride an '86.

Out of interest, what your mileage, and how out of whack were your valves?

A little or a lot? Too tight or too loose? Any pattern? :ummm:

Thanks!

fitted my K series. 1 hour to install, 1.5 hours to cut off the center stand mounts with a whizzer and a 150psi compressor. I cut them off at the frame. I probably could have survived just removing them at the eyelets. I've got a ton of clearance.

Fitted my progressive 11.5 shocks and choked up on the forks an inch. It's um....low.

My RMSportmax wheel sits waiting for a tire. It's um, heavy heh.

rear wheel install was a PITA. I think I have a method now. First step....DEFLATE.

Installed the oil pressure gauge I got from COO. Nice unit, glycerin filled, very easy install! Of course I started it, needle shot right up to 65 psi. Pretty useless info tho, bike was at 55 deg. F and I shut it right off cause of being in an enclosed garage. Well, not totally worthless--I know the gauge works! :biglaugh:
Also greased up the pivot points and torqued the 412 Progressive's I got from Brother Fargo. Thanks again Bro. :punk:

Looks good Dan, Still waiting for mine to arrive, but it's a long winter, I have time.

Rode mine another 100 miles today - still pulling strong! It's near-freezing tonight and for a few more days here, brrrrrr...

Picking up that bargain with the Venture motor tomorrow morning, dumping it in my yard and then I'm riding back to Orlando to work!

Yeeehaw
