44Mag, I don't mind you jumping in at all! It just helps to show how easy it was the install! The hardest part of the whole thing was cutting a straight line with the Sawzall! I haven't put the fender back on the bike yet as I'm waiting for paint, so I'm curious to see if the provided wires will reach the original wires on the bike. Hopefully I don't have to extend them!

Right on.

BUMP for the cutting fun!! Totally forgot about that. LOL!!! Mine's not all that straight but thankfully it's not visable either. :)

The wires from the new light are definitely long enough. They were the ones I was talking about that I had to do a little creative tucking to get them to sit back in there nicely. I really think you'll be good to go Brother.

I hope you don't have to extend the wires, for some I had to on my light. But it works perfectly and looks great IMO.

thanks 44, ekozy and redbone... its on the wishlist. haha

god that list is getting long...

I `m fixin` to do that furbur fix and check the bearings on the steering head but I need some help !!!:confused2:

I need to replace that rubber washer with a steel one .
Does anyone out there know where I can get one ??

I saw only one on E-Bay but it went fast and, now I can`t find one .

does anyone have an extra one anywhere or know someone that does.:bang head: I want to go fast again.

Installed my Grim Reaper stator cover from Python and finished painting in the "Yamaha" on my scoops in a metallic maroon. Next stop, polishing fork lowers, that ought to take a while.

Well it started out as an oil/filter change and expanded into shims done, new top end gaskets and carbies balanced or synced .A really good clean and now I think the motor needs some new paint and the frame is looking honestly pretty shitty so I think that will be what will you do to your max next.Kevman

Geez Bro, put down the coffee and go to a meeting. LOL!!!

(Just playin)

Drained the oil, removed the bellypan, removed the stock head pipes to be replaced by kerker system, removed instrument cluster to route oil press line, started list of replacement nitrous system parts for new design, looking at new graphics for the faux tank, finished wrapping the exposed wires from the tach with a small loom then hid them, buttoned up the headlight and instrument cowel.

put my headlight back to stock (thanks everyone for their help), put my new speedocover on w/the shiftlight mounted, pretty sweet looking, put my flyscreen back on and started her up to ensure the shift light was working..

todays a busy day to, oil change, oil level unit change, final drive oil change, spark plug change and coolant/antifreeze change..

oh and i get to put on my engine guards

Today the sun finallllly came out , I can`t believe that it was actualy warm and stayed warm so, I pulled out my battery only to find the terminals and many wires with corossion on them.(it`s only been two weeks):bang head: so, I pulled apart the plugs and dipped them in baking soda and water and bathed the battery as well. After cleaning every thing up I refilled the battery and put it on the trickle charger for 4 hours. I cleaned up all the terminals and put them back in their plugs , gave it a bath and took her for a ride and thanks to the good lord, the battery is holding a good charge
and thats what I did to my V-MAX today

THe end.:clapping:

After about a 140 mile ride yesterday, put in on the centerstand and cleaned her up real good. Removed faux tank, side covers, scoops, checked air filter, cleaned tires & wheels, etc, etc. Repolished scoops (this is beginning to get old). Thinking about chrome later this year.

just went for the first long ride of the year, hard to decide where to set the t-boost, with it on all the time it's to much in town, set at 3k i forget about it and it scares the shit out me when in comes on, damn what a nice problem to have. dave

When I installed my t-boost it scared me too, I got it from quality parts on line and they warned me that it would take some getting used to and now that I`m used to it it`s alot of fun but I found that it`s not for the freeway because it burns alot of fuel and heats the motor so, now I just use it for getting on the freeway then I set it back to stock (I positioned the switch so I can reach it while riding) it`s also fun to use for passing cars .:eusa_dance:

Ordered up one of these dudes from Mek. Bit pricey but it's the look I wanted and I'm tired of running around with no rear fender at all.

Ordered a new Supertrapp endcap and 12 discs. Dug out the old 12" supertrapp 2.5" race can and started cleaning it up.

trapp.jpg

when my pipes arrive, I'm going to compare the sounds of the carbon can vs. the trapp.

It should be interesting, my old slip-ons sounded great and they were only 1.5" restricted by stock pipes.

The old trapp race can 2.5" mated with the Kerker pipe should sound pretty sweet.

I'll post videos when it all comes together.

I went to Kreagen auto parts and got me a can of sea foam to put in the tank and, after doing everybody elses shit(my kids) I finallllly got a chance to put it in maxes tank when lo and behold it started to rain so I figured that I would take it out today but to my dismay, it rained all night and this morning too.
I know So.Cal. needs rain but this is getting to be depressing.:bang head:.
I can only hope that these damn clouds dry out sometime today, I really want to run that stuff through my fuel system and keep it clean.:confused2:

KJ, the header went out yesterday but the rear downtubes aren't in yet. They will ship asap when they are ready.
