What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

I took my bike to the garage and got the forks stripped & new tubes fitted. I have 40k miles on the bike, so she's getting old. Should I make sure they change the bushes as well to keep things tight, or will they be ok? I have uprated the brakes (hayabusa 6 pots, thanks Sean Morely - like a...

    Different front fork tubes.

Yamaha FZR 1000 Exup !992=1993 forks are inverted and the same length apparently. Lots of forums over here talk about a bolt on conversion, but obviously you need to change the internal as the Max is about 70kgs (180lbs) heavier. Food for thought - but not sure if you guys got those over there?

Hi Chaps, have recently added some new bits to the bike, which means I have some of the original bits to sell. there's a pair of wheels and front disks, and a pair of front callipers and a lever, all still in one piece. Links here...

    Diversion rear wheel alignment!

That's great, is the washer you're refering to item 20 in the diagram? I also thought the item 13 wasn't strictly necessary, but also agree it would clean up the look to re-fit it. Tyre clearance can;t really be an issue, the rear tyre I'm using is a 160 section, I'm sure the vmax stock...

    Diversion rear wheel alignment!

Not sure if any of you out there have done this conversion but wanted to reach out for some advice: I have got a diversion rear wheel and have had it fitted by a local garage, but it doesn't seem to be right. There is a large gap between the wheel and the shaft drive, big enough for me to...

    Beware Dodgy Breakers!!!

Hi Guys, I obviously wouldn't do anything so slanderous as tell you not to buy from someone, or say that anyone is underhand, fraudulent or a downright crook, but what I can tell you is that J.E. Bikebreakers on ebay, aka Jamie Kerry, PayPal address [email protected], took my money for a...

looking for adjustable levers for an 85

I have actually been on the same quest Mike, but have gone a little deeper into the project! I have got a Suzuki GSX1400 Master Cylinder (07/08), and a couple of Hayabusa Callipers for the front with some adapters from Sean Morely (One2dmax), thanks Sean! I'm some braided hoses and a couple of...

    Rear Wheels!!

Hi guys, Really appreciate the feedback, and the tips. Someone asked what the aim is, so here we go. I'd like to have a trick looking Vmax that goes like stink (check) and handles OK too. In my mind that means R1 front end, including brakes, Drag bars (fitted today, love em, if it wasn't...

    Rear Wheels!!

Hello and good morning people!! I'm looking at new rear wheels for better rubber purposes, as many have done, to rid me of the mid-corner wobble that I'm sure is going to land me in a ditch at some point!! I'm aware of the XJ900 diversion wheel and that it will bolt on with a spindle kit, but...

    17" & Radial

That sounds good, I'd seen something about the Kosman option online. They take the inner part of the wheel and weld a new rim on, that's right isn't it? Only problem I can see is that I'm in the UK (London) and Kosman is in the US, right? not sure about sending wheels around the world, that's...

    17" & Radial

Hi guys, new to the forum and to the Vmax, and sizing one up with a view to it being a project. I've moved from the country to the city and as such the twisties are going to be a rarety, so something that goes like stink in a straight line and looks brutal is the order of the day - hence the...
