    Open v boost

I've used 40.0 Mikuni pilot jets (stock are 37.5) http://www.carbparts.com/ N151.067 Non-Bleed Used in many original equipment carburetors OEM for new Triumph, Ducati 30 thru 55 Increments of 2.5

    bad idle after carb cleaning

Yes what you have referenced in the diagram is the pilot screw-fuel/air mixture screw assembly. The four components are the needle screw, spring, washer, & “O” ring. If you feel your getting leakage and don’t have the “O” rings installed you might want to find a rubber cap/seal that you can...

    bad idle after carb cleaning

1st, while checking the float level, yes have the engine running & bike on center stand. 2nd, I have ran across carb-sets that just won't run/adjust correctly for the low speed jets/air/fuel mixture screws etc. The only solution that has worked in these types of cases for me was to replace the...

drip, drip - leak from draincock assembly at block

Yes, this tube has a "O" ring that installs on the tube then slip-fit the tube into the thermostat housing. Remove the tube from the housing & take a look to see if the "O" ring is stuck up in the housing bore? The "O" ring is item #30 on your parts diagram. 30 93210-14104-00O-RING

    tapping/knocking engine advice

One simple item we forgot to have you check for is an exhaust leak? An exhaust leak @ the head pipe to a exhaust port can create a sound just like a tapping?

    tapping/knocking engine advice

When one cylinder is NOT firing it may cause this type of tapping sound. I would replace that sparkplug and/or confirm the slow speed fuel circuit before tear into it!

    Oil pump function

The secondary pump (scavenge pump) I believe it discharges through the small port on the main pump body that has the separate feed tubing that goes to the stator housing?

Ihave a problem with my clutch & don`t know where to begin

""when I depress the clutch handle, it wants to get stuck and squeaks like there is no fluid in it but the resevoir is full."" Check your pivot bolt for proper lube, check the small brass disk mounted in the clutch handle to make sure the plunger from the master cylinder is imbedded correctly...

    VMAX dies on me!

When you changed your stator cover gasket did you remove the middle-gear cover also? If not you might have damaged the crank-trigger sensor wires @ the point where the wires exit the stator cover. Removing the stator cover without removing the middle-gear cover can be very difficult without...

    ???Blown Head Gasket???

Nope I didn't see the piston pic until I went back & re-read all the post. I wonder if all the butterfly screws are still in place @ each carb butterfly?

    ???Blown Head Gasket???

I wouldn't rule out the head came from a blown V-max engine?

    Drive shaft knocking..

This type of Knocking is due to less then an ideal engine tune. Once you have your engine tuned properly (good carb sync, correct CO values via air fuel mixture screws, etc.) you can shift through all the gears 1~5 @ idle while the rear tire is suspended with no to very little knocking. (By the...

Problem no solved. Made a dyno.help

I can't see your fuel/air ratio from the dyno sheets, but my guess would be the main jet size is to lean. As to slightly better runs without the V-Boost? Most believe the V-boost makes the fuel/air ratio richer. My though has always been the V-boost add more volume of fuel/air that the carbs are...

    1997 vmax no spark

This can be a few things before you go after the TCI unit. There are other circuits that will also prevent the coils from firing. Power on circuit, engine on switch, crank trigger sensors, ignition fuse, clutch lever switch and kickstand switch circuit. Confirm the power on voltage is present...

    Lots of Carbon Fiber

Tyga Performance was kind enough to use pics of my 85 V-max on their website, checkout the provided link. http://tyga-performance.com/site/index.php?cPath=230_870_904 PS: As to being real CF? My money says YES!
