I've been riding around on a cheap eBay pair of shocks since June, better than stock but I'm not sure if they're as good as 440s

Also, when you pull the lever and pump fluid down to the slave air will try get in to take it's place - it's better if the air circulates above the diaphram rather than below
Do you still have the oil seperator at the bottom of the airbox? This should collect oil mist and return it to the crankcase, vapour and blow-by continue on and are drawn into the intake trumpets
I've an FMX650 (basically an XR650L with supermoto plastic) and it's great for playing around on
but, it'll olny reach 90 on the main road before running out of wind and it doesn't have the knobbly grip you need for off roading
Can you get aftermarket parts for those little maxes?:rofl_200:
On second thoughts, if you sent pics of your own Vmax to some arty person, could they alter/repaint one of those scale models easily? :confused2:
What you have in the picture is a MECHANICAL guage !!
It replaces the fuel cap on a normal bike and the weight will float on the petrol when full / sink and pull the guage cable when empty. You could install it on a Vmax but your guage will be under the seat - not much use to you there
What...
I tried a few, from stock replacement to heavy duty upgrade but the shunt type always ended up failing
I finally got a mosfet from an R1 and no problems since, the earlier one (FH011AA) has more cooling fins than the later models (FH012AA)
My regulator/rectifier went the same way, frightened the life out of me because it was so close to the fuel tank
It somehow shorted out and the battery dumped all the power it could into it, that's the problem with a direct connection to the battery
Slight overheating with a rough idle can be a sign of a lean burn - the simplest cause would be cracked rubber around the carb/Vboost
The worst cause for overheating would be a blown head gasket but you'd be spitting out coolant with something as serious as that
Funny, my "friend" once snapped something too - it was the post that the plastic screw threads into
What harm would there be if I clipped that plastic nipple off the next time I'm adjusting the carbs :ummm:
