I drilled 5- 3/8" holes between the rivet holes in the ends of the OEM cans years ago. Ditched the chrome ends and painted the ends of the cans black. The sound was much better, but as far as power, very little or nothing to gain. I'd do it again.I can't tell a lot of difference from stock muffs. I have heard some drilled stockers which have a deeper , more mellow rumble . These are probably much lighter , but I would look to drilling out the stockers until I could afford a Marks , UFO , or Kerker full system , or some Kerker or Supertrapp slip ons. JMHO
Wait for a sale from Mark's or keep your eye out for nice used exhaust. I sold a whole Kerker system for $350.00 2 years ago. Of course I wish I'd kept it for my 85 now.
