The weather is cold and rainy and I'm at a stand still on my bike build up sooooo, I got bored. That's usually not a good thing, I don't like to stand still.
So, I tore down my helmet, sanded out the chips and scratches and painted it red with plasticoat. Then I taped up a simple design and sprayed some leftover Durabak bed liner I had lay'n around and viola! A near bullet proof lid. I topped it off with a clear that has reflective properties under direct light for night visibility. I weighed it against my wife's identical helmet and surprisingly it was only a few ounces more.
So in the day it looks flat black with flat red that almost matches my bike, and at night it becomes a disco ball. Probably something coprunner would never use as its seen from satellites quite well I'm sure. What the hell, it may save my ass some night.
