I hope for my wife's sake, I'll have some notice of my impending demise soley so I can liquidate and simplify. She'd be lost having to go through all my "stuff". Anyways, I see plenty of fifty year old bikes and they don't all seem that old to me! A friend of mine has a BMW that looks pretty cool for it's age. Just think, some bikes from the sixties are turning fifty now! Dave is right about the uncertain future. Times, they are a changin...

#2381. Completely stock. Runs great, great condition. Only problems in 25 years: One sticky carb diaphragm, starter clutch and some connector corrosion. 40000 plus miles riding on both Florida and Oregon Coasts almost exclusively. Could explain connector corrosion.

so far rebar's #421 is in the lead as "the origianal" stock condition.... and #221 parts bike for oldest in existance...

Is this still accurate? I may have to think about putting all my best parts on #221

ok here is the updated list, added 11 original 85's to the list this time round, and we are up to a grand total of 40 85's... if this tread is any kind of gauge of how many 85's are still out there I would have to say at this point they appear to be quite rare...... find us some more to post up guys.... whare are the vmax-oa boys hiding out at?? Im thinking this list is still quite short..

Gleason ... yeah, who the heck is that?! :biglaugh: Sorry Jay for displacing you ... but it is a real honor for me to think that I beat you at something related to a VMAX!

I just ordered the autographed poster from him and should arrive any day now. I still have an original article in '85 of him being interviewed about drag racing the VMAX and a picture of him talking with his hands describing it. Priceless.

If I do decide to sell it I will post on this forum first.

Sorry guys, should have posted a while ago. My 85 ran like crap all last summer, found some holes in three of the carb diaphragms, figured the carbs probably needs a cleaning so i sent them off to Sean. currently restoring it over the winter, other then Drag bars (still have the stock ones), cobra exhaust and paint its all stock
