Guys, any idea guys how much could be a fair deal for a second hand one ?
Same shape than the first pic. I guess the pipe is 9-10 years old.

I finally got it for a very friendly price :eusa_dance:
Just a newbie question, do you think a dynojet stage 1 will be a must ?
Every thing is stock on my max beside the K&N filter in the airbox.

I guess the best way to know is to install and try it :)

just in time for the make over of my 89 max (chroming, new paint, new pipe)

Hope to send pics and a video with the sound of that pipe.

Let me know if you have any advice for a newbie :)

Michael

You most definitely do not need the stage 1. The only thing you may need if you change exhaust (and then only if it includes full headers), is to re-jet - usually just reduce the size of the main jets to compensate for the added air.

Correct! Run it like it is and see what you think. Many over here run the Kerker with stock jetting.

thanks guys, I'm getting it this coming WE.
Hope I can have mounted soon hehe.
I guess I will run it with his full size at first then reduce the size of the can.
At least to make sure it doesn't go beyond the tail section, as i saw in the forums the usual size is 14".

Let's see :)

You could easily cut 8 inches off that thing... It's WAY to long IMO.

Sounds good though!

was that some random dude video taping the bike? weird. lots of video for 2 seconds of sound.

Just found a video how the pipe looks and sounds :)
No offence but IMHO...its looks like shit.
I used to have mine Two Bros cans instaled that straight upward and also they were that kind long. Its remainds me a chimney on the ship.
Also if the outlet from can is that kind straight up it will propably couse lot of pain in you ears and it will create hudge mass of exhaust gas/air ahead your head and sure your performance will be worse. It will disturb you aerodinamic if v-max have that kind of fenomena :rofl_200:

And thats why i've shortened mine cans about 3 inches and fabricate new
exhaust joints.

But hey, it exactly like with fat tyres. They're completly useless at cornering and handling but for some people they look great. But for others they dont.

I guess you're right. Few inches less will help for sure :)
From what I have seen in the thread, most of the cans have been reduced to 14". I guess I will know how much it can be reduced when it will be installed.

Looks like alot of trouble. You prolly need to get rid of it before you waste your time/$$$. Yeah, thats it...just need to unload it on some dumb sucker...living in West Texas...yeah, i know just the dummy...!:)

If you can afford the Over setup, you wont regret it at all... Fit and finish is second to none, They also have a new GP system in both 4 into 1 and also 4 into 2.. I have the heat colored titanium 4 into 2, the carbon cans are a bit long looks wise, but i plan on taking care of that this winter... The GP systems cans are a bit shorter..

The 4 into 2 has the crossover also... You can buy direct from Over if you have the right English speaking salesman... I have some Over carbon body work also, the tank lid fit is too good, its a bitch to get off.... rad covers are also over items... its a shame they dont make the side covers anymore, they were the best looking units i have ever seen....

I have a good contact at Over you need to buy anything, most of them dont speak english, so calling you will most likely be hung up on:rofl_200: dont ask me how i know that...
