I showed it to my wife & she thinks it was staged. I would prefer to think it was not.

yuck, looks painful on the body and the pocketbook. i wonder what insurance would say?

Another place online said it wasn't staged, but it was a pro cameraman and setup for a cycle enthusiast mag/show. That's why it has the great quality footage, and why they were riding where people typically don't.

Genuine oops but by a group and not just any old joe rider.

Insurance covers accidents , not intentional acts. They should cover it. I don't think he was wanting to take that fall with that bike.

I would say real, why would they risk possible damage to the boat and the bike.. The accident was caused by the saddle bag/storage compartment and it would be hard to stage the outcome of catching one of those on a post..

I followed up on it a bit and yeah it is a real accident. The professional quality video and totally oddball place to be riding is because it was a French magazine called Moto-Journal setting up for whatever article they were working on.

I'm pretty sure this totally hosed their planned photo shoot :rofl_200: Mental note: Always remember your luggage gives your bike a wider frame!

Only bagger I ever had was my FJR, which is what our 'star rider' was driving I think. The front is quite a bit narrower than the bags and I can see where it would be really easy to get into a situation like that.

Looks like the bike landed right on it's nose, and the rider? She was lucky....and yeah, I think it was a chick....could have easily whacked the edge of the boat and drowned before anyone got to her.

Good chance of some follow-up nightmares there!

I couldn't stop thinking of how much the body position as the bikes dropped out from under neath the rider looked exactly like the old cowboy pencil cartoons, the famous one that has "Whoa you son of a bitch" as the caption.
Anyone remember that one?

The Kinks!
The Davies boys.

"Lola, vs. Powerman and the Moneygoround"
I used to play songs off that album on my radio show in MI during 1970/71 while I was going to college. If you worked for a radio station, you could order the Billboard Top 100 LP's for $1.65 apiece! And they came w/a cool "radio station use only" label! (often)

And for you Young Whippersnappers who don't know what an LP is, it stands for Long-Playing album, a 12" flat circular grooved vinyl method of music reproduction developed by RCA and still in-use today. Let's see how-long your iPad3 stays on the market! (I have a 1 & a 2).

Looks like a helmet cam on lolo helmet . Like to see that footage.
