Time to Rebuild... :)

After fiddling with fitting the airbox back onto the carbs last night, I finally ended up removing the velocity stacks from the airbox, heating them all gently in hot water to soften the rubber, then dried, lubed and installed each one at a time, 3 went on easy..... forth... well, it's now on and I think I learnt a few new 4 letter words :bang head:. I then fit the airbox back over the stacks and seated it down as well (and yes, I attached the vent hose) :clapping:

Here are some updated pics. (and I'm not done painting the tank cover or rear fender yet - rattle can until I decide on a paint scheme)

You may have to buy new boots if they don't go back to size (they shrink and get hard over time). The new boots are so soft and fit so well it's crazy that we fought them ourselves for so many years. Now, I keep them in stock.

When they shrink they also don't fit the base of the box snugly once in place. This lets air leaks and unfiltered air in too.

Excellent point. They sure fit snug to the Carb body now though!! lol
How much does a set cost?

shane, i just replaced my 4, i can look if any of my old ones are in decent enough condition to re-use, i bet one or two might be if a couple are f'd. shoot me an email/pm to remind me.
