Looked over my helmet, and the bike. I'm thinking of another wrap for the both of them this time in carbon fiberish.

At first I was thinking blue. now I'm thinking red to match the scoops, rim stripe and radiator grill. Hell maybe both. Superman was red and blue :th_rockon: and blue with red accents dosn't sound too bad to me. We'll see after I get the prices, I'm still playing the roll of the starving student :) I'll have to color some pictures to see how it will look. before I dive in.

I haven't done anything to the bike all winter but tear it apart and mail pieces of it away, LOL.

Got some goodies back in the mail today though. Still got a long way to go.

That's some wild stuff KJ, bet it will really catch the sunlight! :clapping:

Today I finished up the front & rear brakes, dismantled and cleaned masters, calipers, rebuilt calipers, new fluid and EBC HH pads.

Now, if the glacier would just receed a little so I could try them out!! :punk:

Wow KJ, that's a little freaky. I was on their site last night looking at the carbon red for my bike. Would be about $100 to cover the pieces that I want done (fenders, faux tank and chin spoiler). The only concern I have is is it stretchy enough to cover these pieces. I noticed that they a very flexible type of material listed but only in the carbon black.

You think the red carbon would out ok? Asking you since you have some experience with this stuff.

Mike

You can get some interesting images and colors in vinyl also. I thought about doing that, but went with standard paint. The pro's can make the vinyl do amazing stuff, in terms of getting it into the curves and what not, but when I tried to just put a clear vinyl chip guard over my lower chin spoiler, it was a lot of work and not as smooth or as easy as the pros make it look.

Painting everything on my max cost about $800 if I recall correctly, and that included fixing dents and filling and smoothing the form of the side panels and the Yamaha logos in the air scoops. I took all the parts off and all the trim.

If you can make the overlay stuff work, it would be cheaper and give a cool effect that you cannot get from paint. Just my random thoughts.

I think it would. I talked with the graphics shop that did my last wrap and they don't see an issue. There is a couple more shops in town that are doing some nice work too, so I'm going to hit them up as well.

I'm going to get my scoops, faux tank, fender, side panels and tail section done.

It was $130 to get my faux tank done with the graphic image last time. Come spring I'll get an estemate when I bring the bike to them for a look-see.

I had to take my front wheel off so that I could get a new valve holder fitted due to slow leak.So while the front end was in the air I took the front forks out and put new seals and dust covers on and replaced the fork oil. Also painted the fork legs black and am thinking of doing the triple trees as well.Hopefully the rain will stay away for the weekend.Cheers Kevman.

installed my oil pan. finally.

also installed some powdercoated parts and still a bit more to do. have made flat black:

instrument gauge cover
flyscreen
clutch insert
clutch cover
middle gear cover
brake lever
shift lever
headlight ring
kickstand

installed my dyna. i think. not sure which stock parts to keep on. kind of a pain hopefully its worth it.

Gotta be a good feeling to have the bottom end back together G! I'm sure you will feel the dyna is work the expense and effort the first time you miss a shift.

I got some parts in yesterday. Ended up putting my reworked seat back together tonight, removing the shock stud from the rear diff, and checking out the PCW relocator bracket. I guess I was supposed to get some shims with it but I didn't. Sean said he didn't get any, PCW says they don't have any. Where the bracket attaches to the diff there is a 5mm gap between the two. Couldn't find anything suitable on hand. Ending up locating some washers from Grainger that should do the trick just fine.

Oh I def agree that's why I got it.

Did u leave your coo stopper in or use the oem rubber?

Sounds like things r coming along!

I left the COO stopper in. I cant see the elbow every moving with one of those in there.

Still got a long way to go on the bike. Roy says 5 weeks on triples, I would guess the wheel to be the same. If I am lucky, LOL

gotcha, sounds good. yea with the new viton ring i don't think it'll ever be an issue

I am assuming that you are not running COP's?

nah i had to give them up a while ago as the mitsu's were misbehaving and never put them back on.

for those who installed a dyna whatd you do about the OEM rubber sleeve, oem screws and sleeves for the screws?

made a rack to paint my exhaust...
