I'm still undecided on the scoops. They will be darker, I'm not sure if I want to go all black or go with a two tone gunmetal/black. One thing that did help the lettering situation was paint. I'll attach a pic. That badging does look nice though. I would have a hard time working it into my current evolving paint scheme.

Yeah, I try to make sure when I work on my bike, nothing is left unbolted just for this scenario to happen. I too did this. Was riding for a week and kept hearing a clanging on the front end, but never knew what it was since all worked perfect. Came to find out that one of my caliper bolts fell out and the second was loose so when I braked hard, it clangs up against the rotor.....OUCH!!!:bang head:

I feel your pain brotha.....

I bet that wont happen again...
Muffler damaged and leaking, will try to see if it can be repaired.
Funny thing is I usually double check. I guess moving in a new place distracted me a bit.

It happens to all of us, sometimes i think i have improved just to be slapped in the face with another boneheaded move.:bang head:

I rode it, all is well and the tune-up spot on. :clapping: No hiccups, or misses.

Here is a bit of the sound, the IXIL's make for a good match with the Kerker. It's just about right, not much more than the carbon can it replaced.
The sweet spot is about 65-70 mph. so there isn't a dull drone, so I'm thinking a long distance ride wouldn't be as fatiguing in the ear department.

Doesn't start. Had to push it 1/2 mile down the road to my work so I can trailer it to the shop where I can install/ fabricate. Parts

We all make mistakes man. Ive had more than my share.

Worked 13 hrs yesteray (becoming the norm) then started assembly of my rear diff once i got home. All was going quite well till i tried to install the bearing retainer. I spent a good 10 minutes trying to get the threads started. I thought i may have damaged the threads while pounding bearings in. I inspected the diff case and all looked good. I inspected the bearing retainer and while looking at the threads i remembered they are left hand, not right. OOPS, lol. Easy fix. Put it in and turned counter clockwise and the threads engaged right away. I will blame it on being mentally fried from work! Got it pretty much buttoned up. Just got to paint the plastic shroud and get a new vent.

Installed new Muscle seat that came from Santa (AKA my mailman) today. Went for a short romp around the neighborhood and must say that I'm impressed. Lowered and locked in feeling is much better than it was. Also got some more work done on the new paint. Going to look friggin sweet.

Started my new rattle can paint job, just the faux tank cover painted...
my new theme is going to be UNSC

installed my velocity stacks. i must say, that i really love the response. the bike's pull is "tighter", if that makes sense. i started cleaning the bike, but stopped short at the stator cover. hehehe. screw it, not today. i polished the aluminum dragon graphic that i bought for the back of the sissy pad. looks a LOT better. finally bolted on some new barend mirrors to replace the ones that i grew tired of.

Took a break from studying and went for a ride. I had some popping on decel at a higher RPM, didn't like it, it only popped a couple of times yesterday, then it was fine. I took it as normal warm up popping, and didn't think much of it. then again, I didn't really let the engine slow me down, I was on the brakes and clutch, still feeling out my levers. Today the popping was much worse, using the engine to slow me down, plus the pipes started to sound a little funny. So I brought her home. :bang head:

So I figure that about 99% of popping on decel is a header/exhaust air leak, I grabbed my trusty allen wrench and went after the only pipe that came loose and out of the header. Sure enough, It was loose. After a full turn on one allen and 1/2 turn on the other, I took her back out.

Sounds like it should, so I punched it. No more popping on decel. So I continued my ride to further check the tune up. Plenty-o-power, rear spins when you want and the front end gets pretty light when you hammer it. After 80 miles of hooliganism around town, I went to top it off. The results were; spirited riding around town netted me 36.8 mpg. So I'm confident I'm over 40 on the hwy.

It's nice to hit the nail on the head of the tune-up, at the beginning of the season, so all I have to do is just richen her up in the fall. :clapping:

Rode it to work today. Would do it more often but I live too close (4 mi). I leave for work at 4:15 a.m. so with respect to my neighbors, I warm it for a minute on low choke and get the hell out of there. Everybody at work loves the sound of my bike. You always get the :ummm: wow that thing sounds mean. Thanks I know :biglaugh:

Put my Morley jet kit in.
I wasn't going to coz there is a ride tomorrow I want to be on. But this week it started running bad again. Terrible running on light throttle, but sparks up beautifully after 4000rpm.

Put my jet kit, and pfaffed around for ages balancing it with my home made csrb tool. Had to make a few changes to it to finally get it so it worked and I got it idling sort of OK-ish. 6pm finished, and took it for a quick spin, and it started raining, and it still ran like poop low rpm/light throttle. Gaaaah! :bang head:

Then I remembered, I bought new spark plugs, but I forgot to put them in!
I hope they fix it, because I have no idea if the jetting will be any good, and I want to go on this ride in the morning.

Aaaah. Feel better now I let that out. My missus just doesn't understand. I know you will though. :biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

A few more parts painted

Nice paint job/theme. Love the green and black and how the black bleeds into the green

Changed the seat flip section to one with the "VMAX" monogram just stitched, no color. The previous blue didn't match the paint color and annoyed me. Installed HAC backrest, for the wife. I chose the HAC since it can be quickly removed. I prefer to not have it on. Also, installed an extra brake only light behind the seat, where the reflector was, on the HAC mount.
