Got a digital tire gauge out and balanced both forks to within .1 psi of each other ( right around 10.5 ) Bundled up against the elements to go out for a quick shake down ride. Unfortunately I STILL have speed wobble around 115 or so. Sigh.

Tighten up that big nut on top of the forks should help
I did tighten it down after doing the adjustments on the jam nuts, but maybe it's not tight enough (That's what she said!)
I will try that. Of course will have to wait till tomorrow to see if it worked. Too chilly and dark to be going over 100mph right now.

edit: I just went out and tightened the top nut. While it hadn't moved from where my Sharpie mark was, I was still able to get like an 1/8 of a turn on it, so knocking on wood.

did some WIRE MANAGEMENT ripped apart the head light shrink wrapped everything cut all the crappy connections made new tight grounds syncd the carbs and polished everything been out there for 5 hours man it turned out awsome.. now if i can get a break in the rain and the roads dry the MAX will be out !!

Is the wobble in the bars or in the seat of your pants? I ditched the stock fork springs and switched to the Proggressive set up lowered an inch. Now I don't worry about air pressure, but have now noticed a "wiggle" coming from under me. I think my swingarm needs adjustment, speaking with other Maxer's the set up for swingarm torque was poor at best from the factory. Good luck on your wobble...

Well I got my DDM Motorcycle HID Kit, 55W, H4 High / Low, 8000K kit today, I been waiting for it. I took the max apart to cram the extra wiring that is not needed. I took the headlight bucket off and opened the back of it up to allow the bigger HID bulb install. I also change front turns again, bigger same style 3 1/2 inches from 3/4 inch. I pulled all the wiring out of the headlight bucket that was not needed and tucked them up. I must say that the light even in the day time was much brighter. I did not take any photo of any of the install but it is plug and play for the most part. Other that cutting the back of the headlight bucket, under 2 hours to get it all in and button back up. Well I took the bike out after dark I am very must impressed with the amount of light and the brightness of it. It is a no brainier for changing the light out and hacking up the headlight bucket to make it fit. When I get a chance I will add a photo at night.

Changed out FInetune's exaust & RR this morning then done some diagnosing on a TL 1000 & ordered parts for it then done some reassembly of an SV 650 then rebuilt a carb on an XR 100 Then changed out some carbs on a Vmax & looked at my bike sitting there lonely.

Kyle, I'm gonna have to get better so I can do more on my bikes.
Hearing all that you did wears me out..... All I accomplished today was
having new tires put on Mary's truck. It was rough siting there for 2 hours.
We had 2 flats Sunday night, both near the sidewalls. $972.00 later, new tires.:bang head:

I did put a new up to date picture of "Strafer" in my albums here on the site.
Different seat, side covers and the scoops you had fixed for me, Thank You Again.:clapping:

My buddy still wants to resarect it. He helps me out a lot and is just barely squeaking by in teh middle of a divorce I am thinking about suprising him & just giving it to him to play with.

Kyle: You may be a life saver giving your buddy something to get his mind off the other crap that's going on....

johnpclynch: That is,,,, a way cool headlight assy....:clapping:

Well, I ran 3 of my bikes today, about 10 miles each. Saved the 94 Vmax for a longer ride tomorrow if I'm feeling better. Gotta really test the new stereo on the 94....

Installed my new foot pegs courtesy of Mr Morley. Thanks Sean! They look 1,000,000 times better than stock. Everyone should buy a set of these.

Note that the angle of the peg is adjustable to your taste. You should have received the allen wrench to fix the locking screw. I tried to set them by eye to what I would want.

Got done with a presentation in microbiology and saw the most killer rainbow one end looked to be on the river, the other one of my favorite riding routes.

So went and had a nice, rain ride through the valley. The smell of wood burning, and clean vegetation every where. Now Archangel needs a bath. but soooo worth it. :clapping:
