Nice! I'm going to send my lever this winter. I'm not lucky like you and have more than one Max!

Went for a nice morning ride around the valley. Saw a couple moose and a fox. All and all, the leaves are changing, sweet and crisp fall air and no one on the road. Saaweeeet :clapping:

Today I finished the valve job, writeup coming soon. Started the bike after all that and it scared the living daylights as I'd forgotten I have open headers! LOL

Fitted the spare clutch M/C while the other's out for its mod.

Trashed the old $15 horns and replaced with Fiamm AM-80s, these guys are LOUD. Wicked. :clapping:

Finished fitting the new Galfer front brake lines, and repainted the brake M/C.

Took off the rear wheel and the pumpkin, and fitted the one from my spare bike to find out if it's in good shape and whether it's a Max or a Venture :ummm:

Attempted to refit the OEM silencers while I wait for Kaboom's Jardines to arrive. It's fukin IMPOSSIBLE to do this on your own. I actually reckon it's a 3 man job - those *******s weigh a ton, and there's just no way to wiggle all four headers in at once.. :bang head:

Refitted the rear wheel with the 90% worn Shinko, I'm ready for some burn outs now, and have a spare wheel with a new Dunlop 491 to use until I decide what new tire I will get (prolly Shinko again)

Put all my tools away and parked the bike in its capsule after running it one more time with open headers - I just couldn't ride it like that, it'd be asking for a ticket..

And it's a beautiful day, I could've ridden to work too.. :damn angry::bang head:

Well I put fork seals in my Little GS 500 & a wear ring in a Jet Ski Pump & put an air cut Valve in My Vulcan carbs & installed the carbs back on the bike tomorrow morning I am gonna go out & put a New tire on the back of the max.

Went out for a kick ass ride today. No humidity and some good country road. stretched it out @ 9500 rpm a couple times for a few gears and had a blast.....My wife says "you don't mind if I go shoppin' for a while do you ?" No not at all sweet pea...I'm sure I can find somethin' to do :biglaugh:

5 coats of Mother's polish on my scoops, and 2 coats of Mothers Carnuba wax on my fender's and tank cover.... I also started it and annoyed the neighbors. :D

:clapping::punk::worthy:

Put a SCREAMING air horn on it..........Didn't take long out on the road before I encountered my first "deserving" motorist.....

:clapping::punk::clapping::punk::clapping::punk:

Oh yeah.......and put a deer whistle on it too finally........no idea if it works but it makes for a "feel good" item if nothing else........

put the last parts on it after installing new engine(from Sean)and fired it up.I was somewhat amazed that it fired right up after sitting for about 2 months and that i remembered where all the parts went.sounds great but won't be able to test ride it until tomorrow.:th_image003::th_image003::th_image003:

Max got a new battery and an oil change today. Should be all ready to ride to work tomorrow.

I chenged oil and filter. Changed the diff oil and bled new fluid in the brakes and clutch. Managed to do alot of cleaning (much needed) on the max. It rained almost all weekend :(. It is amazing how noticable the shift quality is on fresh oil. I am trying to sort thru my parts and see if I have jets I need before I pull the carbs down. Actually not a bad weekend considering all the other things I wound up having to do.

Jim

Rode it to work this mornin'. So did 7 other guys on their bikes... I love that jealous **** look on their faces at the end of the day when I fire up a barely wrapped 2 1/2" Kerker :punk:

Last hight me and the wifey went to some thrift stores and, in one of them I saw something that caught my eyes, it was a gel pack:clapping: for only $6.98 made for a big bicycle seat so I brought it home and, today I opened up the seat and chopped out some more foam and it fit like a glove so now, I`m going to
put it back on the bike and see how it feels:biglaugh::biglaugh: but I left a little bit of foam on it to acommodate my big arse.
<<Dave>>:punk:

Well almost 4 hours later and I have sucess!, :biglaugh:.
The seat needed a little re work but now it`s golden.
I think I can do a vegas trip now :eusa_dance:.
that gel pad is sweeeeeeet, :worthy: now if I can get rid of that popping , I`ll be a happpppy camper.
Here are some pics of the seat.

I got out on my Max last night for a little tear around town. Bike ran great when I first left the house, but within 10 minutes it went downhill.... I was sitting at a red light, bike actually starting popping a bit out of the pipes (that's new BTW). So I accepted defeat and decided to head for home, I wanted to go for a tear not for a run on a bike that's running like *****.... So while heading towards the causeway to head for home, I decided to hit the highway first for a quick jaunt to 'clean it out':clapping:
I was already rolling in second when I rounded the bend and boosted through 2nd, 3rd and 4th, then settled into 5th. Pulled off onto one of the main arteries here and then straight back on to head for home... I got one hell of a rush on the entrance ramp, you see, every time I've ever hit boost the bike has been straight, this time, I was leaned over in the bend on the ramp and hit boost in second gear, I'm quite sure the rear broke loose but it happened so fast I can't be sure, but what a rush!:punk: (stupid mind you....)
Anyway, I boosted through the gears (keep in mind I'm still pissed from the previous ****** performance of the bike) ran back down the highway at 180kmh as soon as I rolled off to slow down at the traffic circle, I noticed my fuel light :rofl_200: Oh, that's what's wrong:eusa_dance:

DOH!

OK.......lemme get this straight......

Your bike is running poorly and is making strange noises that it has never made before......

So you start whipping the piss out of it in situations where you have never done it before......

Welcome to the club......

YA LUNATIC!!!!!!
